🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — We Remember.
Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, search-and-rescue teams, military personnel, and countless civilians who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape it.
And we remember the dogs.
The search-and-rescue dogs who worked tirelessly through the rubble, searching for survivors and bringing comfort to people in the darkest moments. The therapy dogs who helped first responders cope with unimaginable grief. The service dogs who continued to stand beside their handlers through a day that changed the world forever.
Those dogs weren’t simply doing a job. They were working alongside their people, trusting their handlers, navigating chaos, exhaustion, noise, and destruction that no dog should ever have had to experience.
As dog trainers, we spend so much of our time talking about communication, trust, teamwork, confidence, and the bond between humans and dogs.
September 11th reminds us just how powerful that bond can be.
We remember the lives lost.
We remember the heroes who responded.
We remember the dogs who served.
And we remember the people and animals who carried on afterward.
Today, give your dog an extra scratch behind the ears. ❤️
Never forget. 🇺🇸🐾
