I wanted to show you guys how this pups coat is progressing.

Henry is now 6 months old and we are doing a full reset because life got busy and I stopped rolling his coat about as quickly as I started it lol.

This dog can be pulled down to his pajamas and still look presentable enough to leave the house for pet outings. No balding required.

His furnishings are growing in thicker but I could strip them if I really wanted. My only complaint is that I don’t believe he will ever have a long and luscious beard. It is harsh and the hair breaks from his schnauzer activities despite my best efforts to condition it. But the positive is… I’ve never pulled a tangle from his coat.

THIS is preservation breeding. Will this dog ever be a big winner in AKC conformation dog shows? With today’s trends…I don’t believe so. His furnishings are not dense or flashy enough. You cannot hide structural faults easily in this coat. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t correct. This dog looks like he walked out of a history book in the best way possible and he has traits that I hope to retain for many generations to come.

Barn Hunt has been such a great outlet for Henry & Birdie. Today we did an intro class and worked around other dogs. Birdie did great!
