A few weeks ago, I introduced everyone to Barley — a dog who was struggling with fear-based and boundary-related aggression. Progress like this is never about perfection, and there will always be good days and harder days, but I wanted to share a positive update.
The great news is that Barley is slowly improving. With consistency, patience, and allowing him to move at his own pace, my arrivals and departures are becoming much less stressful for him. He’s beginning to trust the routine, and he’s allowing me to leash him more quickly and comfortably with each visit.
These may seem like small victories from the outside, but for dogs like Barley, they’re huge milestones. Building trust isn’t something that can be rushed—it happens one positive interaction at a time.
I’m incredibly proud of him and grateful to his family for giving him the time, support, and understanding he needs to succeed. 🐾❤️
Here’s to celebrating progress, not perfection. Way to go, Barley! 🐕✨
