Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones! 🧡🤎

We wanted to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful clients that have helped their pups be the best version of themselves & gave us the opportunity to support them through that journey.
As much as we love making a difference allowing families to enjoy their four legged friend, Claudia has had to step back from dog training. For several years, she has dealt with some injuries (not dog related) that won’t heal. The past three months, Claudia has been working at a youth shelter which is much less physically demanding.
We are here to continue supporting our clients & love to receive updates! But unfortunately, we are not taking any new clients indefinitely.

These love bug brothers have been working hard learning to slow down & not act like bull in a china shop. For them, it’s been a slow process but with consistent progress. It’s the tiny day to day interactions that make the biggest changes. Starting with walking in and out of the crate calmly, waiting calmly to gear up to then be released out of the crate, walking across the house on leash without pulling, pausing with you at the door at arms distance without rushing the moment it opens, following behind through the threshold, & lastly wait calmly as you close the door.
Doing this every single time paired with passive training, will calm down an over stimulated dog.
The first few times is going to be messy, frustrating, take 5 times as long as it should but the key is to stay consistent, stay calm yourself, talk less & do not move forward if the pull (step backwards to reset the momentum). Once they understand that the crazy behavior is not going to speed up the process getting out the door, they will start to offer the new calm behaviors and the process will become smoother and smoother.
Keep in mind, consistency makes or breaks it. If the dog is allowed to rush out every once in a while the process is going to take longer because your expectations aren’t clear.
Help set your dog up for success by taking the time to put in the work now!

Let’s welcome Kong the young presa canario to the C&C Family! This is a serious breed, thankfully he has a confidently mild temperament making his training proactive.
Keep in mind, as dogs mature mindset changes and the small things we let slide become big problems later. No matter how friendly a protective breed dog is, training is always necessary.

Look who’s boarding for the weekend! Harlie has been doing so well back at home & we love hearing how much more her humans can enjoy her company including taking her in public & camping trips. They are all living their best life ♥️

Remi came to us with strong stranger danger & reactive to unknown sounds/movements. This is common behavior for young working/protective breeds. Left alone, this will lead to more serious problems down the road. Establishing good leadership through a foundation of focus, confidence & structure while properly building exposure is crucial to molding a well rounded dog.
