The house just got a lot quieter.
When school starts back up, pets who had company all summer suddenly do not. Some handle it fine. Others show it:
β€’ Pacing or restlessness
β€’ Destructive chewing
β€’ Accidents in the house
β€’ Excessive barking or vocalizing

Ease the transition with short practice absences and a good puzzle toy. If anxiety is severe, we can help.

Tomorrow is National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day and cats need the reminder more than anyone.

Cats are seen by a veterinarian far less often than dogs, and they're experts at hiding illness until it's advanced.

Early Disease Detection Bloodwork can catch kidney disease, thyroid issues, and more, even in cats that seem perfectly healthy.

Head shaking. Ear scratching. That smell you cannot quite place.

Ear infections are one of the most common signs of allergies in pets and they rarely clear up on their own. If left untreated, they can get painful fast.

If your pet is bothering their ears, let us take a look before it gets worse. Call us at (215) 486-0002 to schedule an appointment!

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day!

Black cats wait longer in shelters than any other cat and for no good reason at all. They are just as sweet, just as goofy, and just as ready to love you back.

If you share your home with a black cat, show them off below.

Fleas and ticks are still going strong.

One missed dose is all it takes to open the door to a huge problem. Fleas cause skin irritation and tapeworms. Ticks carry Lyme and other diseases. Mosquitoes spread heartworm.

If your pet is itchy, fleas are worth ruling out first.

It is National Spoil Your Dog Day, which we assume is just called "Monday" at your house.

Extra walk? New toy? The good treats? They earned it.

Just remember... Treats should stay under 10% of daily calories and skip anything with bones, xylitol, or chocolate.

How are you spoiling your pup today?

August heat is no joke.

This is often the hottest stretch of the year, and pets can overheat fast. Keep it simple:

- Fresh water and shade, always.
- Walk early morning or evening.
- Watch flat-faced breeds and seniors closely.
- Never leave pets in a parked car.

Signs of heatstroke include heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting. Call us right away if you see them. This is an emergency!
