We are so excited to announce a brand new Resolute adventure!
Because of the amazing community that surrounds this program, we are beginning a new pilot program that is very close to my heart.
I know many of you have been enjoying all the golden puppy pictures, and now you will get to follow one of those puppies on his training journey from the very beginning.
Buzz’s breeder generously donated him to this program, and he now has a wonderful foster family who will be helping raise and train him along the way. His end goal is to one day be placed as a service dog.
At this time, we already have several possible placements in mind, so we are not accepting applications.
This is something we hope to grow over time, and for those of you who feel as moved by this as I do, we will eventually be looking for sponsors who want to come alongside us and help support the journey.
For now, I am simply delighted to introduce you to Buzz.

A Christmas Visit
It was Christmas at the hospital, and Captain—my eight-year-old Golden Retriever—and I were making our rounds.
We visited patients, their families, and the staff who keep everything moving even on holidays. The halls were quieter than usual, softened by that familiar hospital hush that always feels heavier in December.
We stepped into a small room, and at first I almost didn’t notice her.
A frail woman sat in a chair by the window, wrapped tightly in a blanket, focused on a crossword puzzle resting in her lap. She looked to be close to eighty—thin, tired, and very alone. Then she looked up.
The moment her eyes landed on Captain, everything changed.
Her face lit up with pure, unfiltered joy—the kind that surprises you with how fast it arrives. Captain noticed it too. He always does. Without hesitation, he walked over, rested his head gently on her lap, and stayed there.
She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close, whispering to him in that soft baby talk reserved for dogs you love instantly. Her crossword puzzle slid to the floor, forgotten.
We stayed longer than we usually do.
She told us about her life—about dogs she’d loved before, children she’d raised, grandkids and great-grandkids she adored. Stories spilled out easily, as if Captain had unlocked something that had been waiting quietly inside her. For that moment, she wasn’t a patient. She was simply a woman sharing her life with a very good listener.
It was a small moment in the grand scheme of things. No grand gestures. No miracles.
Just connection.
And it’s moments like that—quiet, tender, human—that keep us coming back, even on the hardest days.

I'd love an update from the puppies
Here is one for Kimber and Captain.
Kimber is 9 years old now, and Captain is 8 1/2. They are living a great life. Captain is still working as a therapy dog; his main gig is visiting Oroville Hospital, but he loves every visit we do. Kimber is enjoying retirement and looking forward to summer when I fill her swimming pool up again.
Here is the sweetest Valentine's picture ever. Don't tell, but I wiped dog treat dust on Kimber's cheek to get the shot. 🐾😁

Feeling incredibly grateful today. Juni B delivered 12 strong, healthy Golden Retriever puppies, and both mom and babies are doing beautifully.
Sire Bowie I'm sure is so proud of himself.
Both parents are OFA-cleared and genetic testing clear.
These pups represent multi-generation therapy and service dog lines, bred with intention, care, and a deep respect for temperament, health, and purpose. Watching the next generation begin is always humbling and exciting.
Juni is a daughter of Captain and Kimber
Bowie is a brother to Hannah one of our therapy dogs.
