🩸 Ever wonder why your pet’s blood sample is examined under a microscope?

While modern laboratory analyzers provide fast and accurate results, veterinary professionals often perform a manual blood smear review to double-check important findings. By looking at blood cells under a microscope, we can evaluate the size, shape, and appearance of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

A blood smear can help us identify abnormalities that automated machines may miss, such as immature cells, parasites in the blood, platelet clumping, or subtle changes that could indicate illness. This extra step allows us to gather the most accurate information possible about your pet’s health and ensure they receive the best care.

Sometimes, the microscope tells us a story that numbers alone cannot. 🔬🐾

Many common household medications can be dangerous—even life-threatening—to pets. Medications such as pain relievers, antidepressants, ADHD medications, and sleep aids should always be stored securely out of reach. A curious nose or accidental spill can quickly become an emergency. Help keep your pets safe by treating all medications as potential toxins and storing them responsibly.

🚨 Every dog owner should know the signs of GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus), commonly known as bloat. This life-threatening emergency can progress rapidly and requires immediate veterinary care.

Signs may include a swollen abdomen, unsuccessful attempts to vomit, pacing, drooling, and restlessness.

The good news? Prevention is possible. Our hospital now offers a prophylactic gastropexy procedure during spay and neuter surgeries to help significantly reduce the risk of stomach twisting later in life.

Talk to our team to learn if your dog is a candidate. 🐾

A gentle reminder from your veterinary team 🤍

If we’re running behind schedule, please know it’s never by choice. Some patients need a little extra time, care, comfort, or medical attention behind the scenes — and in those moments, we give them exactly what we would want for our own pets.

Emergencies happen. Nervous pets need patience. Difficult cases require extra hands and focus.

We understand your time is valuable, and we truly appreciate your understanding when delays happen. Your patience allows us to give every pet the care they deserve. 🐾

🌸 Employee of the Month for May goes to Wendy, our incredible General Office Manager! 🌟 (Photo featuring her lovebug, Chewie)! 💗

To say Wendy is the backbone of our office would still be an understatement. From keeping daily operations running smoothly to making sure every moving part stays on track, she works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the cogs are always turning exactly as they should. Her dedication, reliability, and hard work never go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything she does for our team, our clients, and our patients every single day.

Congratulations, Barbie — this recognition is more than well deserved! 🐾 🧚‍♀️
