If this feels light for us, that's because it is. We've had to do some soul searching recently and realize that we can't save the world at the expense of our own mental health. We're EXHAUSTED, as is everyone who volunteers their time to the animals 🥺

The animal welfare system is COMPLETELY overwhelmed, and there are more homeless animals than ever before, which also means record high euthanaization numbers for space ‼️

"But our shelter is no kill!". No kill shelters don't exist. They might not euthanize for space, but dogs living in shelters for extended periods of time can develop behavioral issues that eventually lead to them being euthanized. Regardless, some of these dogs are living in crates, only getting out for quick potty breaks, and getting little to no enrichment. What kind of life is that?! 😭

This is all thanks to irresponsible breeding and irresponsible pet ownership. FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING, Spay & Neuter! Only support ethical, responsible breeding.

Well this post quickly derailed into an unintended rant.

✨️ I shared this on my personal page yesterday, but wanted to share from the business/rescue page now that I know Ben can service clients anywhere in the US ✨️

In light of the scam I experienced yesterday, I have to give a major shout-out to my good friend Ben, who also happens to be my financial advisor. Ben is the SOLE reason that we're going to be ok, even after being scammed out of thousands of dollars.

I texted him Sunday night as soon as it happened. I told him that I needed to move some money around so that our upcoming bills wouldn't be affected if we aren't able to get the money back from the scam.

He called me as soon as he saw my text, listened to me cry hysterically and told me that we'd fix it first thing Monday morning.

Ben called me yesterday morning with good news. Unbeknownst to me, he recently had taken some actions on my behalf on my investments that will completely offset the money lost, and then some.

I don't have the time, the patience, or the financial intelligence to do what Ben does for me. He is worth his weight in gold, and the investments he does on my behalf makes me so much more money than if I were to try and do this myself.

Ashley has known Ben personally since she was 16. He's a good human, a veteran, an ally, and we are so lucky to have such an incredible friend that I we trust our financial future with.

I've already told him a thousand times in the past 24 hours, but thank you Ben. I can never thank you enough for saving me and being there for me throughout this nightmare.

⚠️RESELLER FRIENDS BEWARE⚠️

If you begin to sell on Vinted, please beware of this scam. I'm extremely embarrassed to be sharing this, but if it saves even ONE of my friends from experiencing the same thing, it will be worth it.

I received a message from a .com email address saying that I needed to verify payment info to get paid. Because I wasn't familiar with how the app worked, I didn't realize that wasn't true and the email was a scam.

Apparently this is a known scam that Vinted is aware of, but I wasn't warned about it until AFTER listing items and already falling for the scam. If this is a known issue, it should be mentioned BEFORE you're allowed to list items.

We will be calling our bank's fraud dept first thing in the morning. We'll take all of the prayers and positive vibes that we can get our hard-earned money back. Right now, it's not looking good 😭

My favorite girl, and her famous RBF 💕

Soyana (knows Lily) has been with us since June, and I don't understand why, outside of her being a 70 lb American Bulldog.

She'd probably do best with older kids, but outside of that she's good with dogs and cats, and she's never had ONE accident in our house. She's quiet in her crate and goes right in. And clearly, she's a top notch snuggler!

I'm going to be a MESS when this girl gets adopted, and her new family must allow me visitation or at lest provide regular updates 😅
