PawPrints Animal Rescue PawPrints Animal Rescue was founded in 2015 in the northern Kentucky area by a group of dedicated people with a passion for animals.

Our goal is to save as many lives as we can by saving all breeds of dog and cats that are at risk of euthanasia in area shelters. With the help of an amazing group of volunteers, all animals are fostered in loving homes until they are adopted. We are an all volunteer organization and rely on donations from the public to cover medical expenses and necessary supplies. PawPrints is a 501(c)3, nonprofit, status meaning any donations are tax deductible.

Happy International Hug Your Cat Day! 🐱💕

They say you can't buy happiness, but you can adopt a bonded pair, and that’s basically the same thing. Meet Beetlejuice and Sugar, our resident "cuddle crew" looking for a place to call home.

Beetlejuice: The energy, the charisma, the blue-eyed heartbreaker. He’s your personal shadow and professional lap-warmer.

Sugar: The calm, the sweet, the gentle soul who balances out the chaos. She’s all about chin scratches and cozy naps.

We’re looking for very specific homes for our two long-term residents. Could you be the "Unicorn" they’ve been waiting for?

THE ONE-PERSON WONDER: Paco 👑
Paco is a 10-year-old Chi/Dachshund mix who is done with the "subtle" approach. He’s looking for a single-person home where he can be the center of the universe.

The Vibe: He’s a "look but don't touch" kind of guy until he fully trusts you. He hates new people and doesn't do walks.

The Home: Needs a fenced yard where he can alert you to every leaf that falls in a three-block radius. He’s great with big dogs, bossy with small ones, and needs an owner who respects a "hard boundary."

THE VOCAL VAGABOND: Bamm-Bamm 📢
Bamm-Bamm is a senior with a high-octane personality.

The Vibe: He screams at leashes, screams at big dogs, and talks back when you tell him "no." He is not a lap dog; he is a squirrel hunter.

The Home: He needs puppy pads, a fenced-in yard, and neighbors who are either deaf or very, very far away.

CINCO DE MAYO SPECIAL: Extra Spicy, Zero Chill.

Meet Paco. He’s a 10-year-old Chiweenie who is approximately 2 lbs of dog and 9 lbs of pure, unadulterated "Don't Touch Me."

We tried to be subtle, but Paco isn’t subtle, so we’re being blunt: Paco is a bite-first, ask-questions-later kind of guy. He doesn’t want to meet your mom, he doesn’t want to go to the park, and he definitely doesn't want a bath. If you try to pick him up before he’s ready, he will personally verify that you still have feeling in your fingers.

Why would you want him?
Because once he decides you’re his "person," you are his entire world. He is the ultimate lap-warmer for someone who hates people as much as he does.

The Paco Requirements:

The "Unicorn" Owner: A single-person home. No kids, no visitors, no "can I pet your dog?" people.

The Space: A fenced yard is a MUST. Paco doesn't "do" walks; he prefers to yell at leaves from the safety of his own kingdom.

The Vibe: You must be okay with being ignored for the first week (or more). If you try to force a friendship, Paco will choose violence.

Paco is neutered, UTD on shots, and looking for a fellow hermit within 2 hours of Florence, KY.

Last week, Maggy passed away peacefully. While her time with us was short—just four beautiful months—it was the ending every dog deserves.

Maggy arrived shaking and weak. She left us as a silly, treat-loving girl who ran for her walks and never met a stranger she didn’t like. She spent her final days following her foster mom around the house, sniffing every leaf in the neighborhood, and ensuring she got her fair share of french fries and cheese. 🍟

This is why we do what we do. We take the "unwanted," the "too old," and the "hospice cases," and we give them a lifetime of love squeezed into a few months. Maggy didn't die alone in a shelter; she died knowing exactly what it felt like to be someone's world.

Thank you to everyone who donated to her care and followed her journey. You helped give Maggy the best ending to a long story. 🐾✨
