Training is only one part of keeping a canine athlete at their best. 🐕🏃
Running, jumping, swimming, quick turns, and repetitive movements all place demands on the body. Adequate recovery gives muscles and joints time to recover between periods of activity and can help support consistent performance over time.
Pay attention to how your dog looks and feels after training, too. Stiffness, changes in movement, taking longer than usual to bounce back, or reluctance to perform certain movements can all be signs that it’s time to ease up and take a closer look.
At Florence Animal Hospital, we’re here to help canine athletes stay active, mobile, and ready for what they love to do. Contact us to learn more about care for your performance dog.
