Our sweet boy Butter Pecan was adopted yesterday. Thank you so much to his amazing adopter - she traveled five hours to adopt a GCAC dog! ♥️🥰

We’d also like to give a huge thank you to one of our volunteers Tracey who fostered this pup and helped facilitate the adoption.

WHERE IS POUND CAKE’S FOREVER FAMILY!? 🍰🌻🐾

This beauty queen has been in a temporary foster home while going through heartworm treatment. This is what her foster mom Terrie has to say.

“Pound Cake is practically perfect in every way.

Pound Cake is calm, sweet, loving, affectionate, and well mannered. She loves meeting people and is very friendly to everyone. Pound Cake is very polite; she will only get up on furniture if she is invited first. She is very well potty trained; not one accident in my house, and she lets me know when she needs to go out. Pound Cake is listed as good with children of all ages. I got to see her around a two year old and Pound Cake was perfect, calm, and gentle the entire time (meets are required with children 5 and under).

Pound Cake is not a fan of the crate, but she really doesn’t need one. She sleeps through the night on a dog bed in my bedroom, and is perfectly fine in the house alone when I’m gone. She greets me at the door when I return and likes to follow me from room to room when I’m home.

Pound Cake enjoys walks in the neighborhood, car rides, and sniffing through the park. She walks well on the leash, but will pull when she sees a squirrel or rabbit. Pound Cake knows “sit”, “paw”, “down”, and takes treats gently.”

🌻 4-5 years old & 71 lbs.

🌻 good with kids, meets required with children 5 and under

🌻 rides great in the car

🌻 selective with her dog friends; meets required with other dogs in the home

Sometimes a dog comes into foster care and you quickly realize…

This girl was meant to be someone’s best friend. 🥹🐾

Meet Tawny. ❤️

Her foster family says she is an absolute lover girl who adores her people. She’s sweet, affectionate, incredibly photogenic, and happiest when she’s near the humans she loves.

And she’s already showing just how wonderful she can be in a home:

🚪 Lets you know when she needs to go outside, even during the night!
🦮 Easy to walk
🛏️ Sleeps quietly in her crate
🦴 Loves bully sticks

There’s something so special about watching a shelter dog discover what it feels like to be safe, comfortable, and loved.
