When we say enrichment-based care, we mean it. 🌴🐾

At Maui, there’s no one-size-fits-all version of a “good day.”

For one pup, it might be running around with a carefully matched group of a few besties. For another, it’s a treadmill session, snuffle puzzle, flirt pole, SwiftPaws, frozen Kong, scent work or practicing commands for treats.

And for some? Their favorite enrichment is curling up next to one of our Canine Coaches for a little extra love. 🤎

We intentionally keep our playgroups smaller and incorporate one-on-one activities throughout the day because not every dog needs, wants or benefits from spending all day running around in a giant group.

We get to know your dog and what makes their tail wag.

Because daycare shouldn’t just keep them busy.
It should make their day better. 🌺

Happy National Dog Day from some of the faces that make Maui, well… Maui. 🐾🌺

The happy faces. The hopeful eyes. The “you definitely have a treat in that pocket” stares.

Every pup who walks through our doors brings their own personality, quirks, energy, and little bit of magic with them. Getting to know them, earn their trust, watch their confidence grow, and love on them while their families are away is the very best part of what we do.

Today we’re celebrating all of our Maui pups: the zoomie machines, the professional snugglers, the shy sweethearts, the class clowns, the treat detectives, and everyone in between.

Because without the dogs, there simply wouldn’t be a Maui Dog Resort.

Happy to the pups who make our days so dang good.

POV: A typical day at Maui... Except around here, “typical daycare” looks a little different.

At Maui Dog Resort, we believe dogs thrive when they’re treated like individuals, not just another pup in a giant playgroup. That’s why most of our groups stay small and intentional, usually around 3–8 dogs, so our coaches can really get to know each dog, their play style, their comfort level and what makes their tail wag.

And while there’s PLENTY of playtime, a day at Maui is about so much more than running around with friends.

🌴 Small, thoughtfully matched playgroups
🧠 Mental enrichment, snuffle puzzles & brain games
🐾 Practicing skills like recall, sit, stay & paw
🏃 Treadmill training & physical enrichment
💛 One-on-one attention, cuddles & lots of love
🌺 Confidence building for our more nervous or selective pups, including safe barrier play when appropriate
🐶 And, of course… a whole lot of happy faces and wagging tails

Some dogs want to be right in the middle of the party. Some prefer a few carefully chosen besties. Others need a little extra time, space and encouragement to build their confidence.

We meet them where they are.

Because to us, great daycare isn’t about fitting as many dogs into a play yard as possible. It’s about making sure every dog gets something meaningful out of their day.
