SPOOKY SEASON IS HERE AT ALL4PAWS!

Halloween is getting closer, and we have a very important question for all our pet parents…

IS YOUR PET A LITTLE ANGEL… OR A LITTLE MONSTER?

We all know our pets have two sides!

THE ANGEL: Sweet, innocent, cuddly, and would NEVER do anything wrong.

THE MONSTER: Steals socks, raids the trash, destroys toys, knocks things off counters, or suddenly forgets every command they’ve ever learned!

And somehow… we love them even more for it!

LET’S HAVE SOME HALLOWEEN FUN!

Post a picture of your pet in the comments!

Tell us their name and whether they’re an ANGEL or LITTLE MONSTER!

Bonus points if you share what makes them mischievous!

Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and all our other furry, feathered, and scaly friends are welcome!

Let’s see how many little monsters are hiding in the All4Paws family!

5 SIGNS YOUR PET MAY BE HIDING PAIN :

Just because your pet isn’t crying doesn’t mean they aren’t hurting.

Dogs and cats can be surprisingly good at hiding discomfort. Sometimes, the warning signs are so subtle that we mistake them for normal aging or changes in personality.

Here are 5 signs every pet parent should watch for:

1. Slowing Down
Is your dog hesitant to climb stairs, jump onto the couch, or go for their usual walks?

2. Changes in Behavior
A normally affectionate pet suddenly becomes withdrawn, irritable, or doesn’t want to be touched.

3. Excessive Licking
Repeatedly licking one area of the body may indicate pain, irritation, or another underlying problem.

4. Changes in Sleeping Habits
Sleeping more than usual, restlessness, or difficulty getting comfortable can sometimes signal discomfort.

5. Changes in Appetite
Eating less, dropping food, or showing difficulty chewing may indicate dental pain or another medical issue.

REMEMBER : AGE IS NOT A DISEASE.

Many conditions that cause pain can be managed, helping your pet stay comfortable and enjoy a better quality of life.

If you’ve noticed changes in your pet’s movement, behavior, or daily routine, don’t dismiss them as simply getting older.

🐾 SUNDAY FUNDAY — WHO REALLY RUNS YOUR HOUSE? 🐾

We all like to think we’re in charge of our homes… but let’s be honest, our pets might have other ideas! 😂

Does your dog claim the entire couch?

Does your cat demand breakfast at 5 AM?

Does your rabbit rearrange the furniture?

Or does your pet give you that look when dinner is five minutes late?

At All4Paws Vet Clinic, we know our four-legged (and feathered!) family members have BIG personalities!

❤️ TODAY’S CHALLENGE:

📸 Share a photo of the pet who REALLY runs your household!

Tell us their name, age, and what makes them the boss!

We can’t wait to meet the little dictators, couch commanders, treat inspectors, and household royalty of the All4Paws family!

Is Your Dog Stuck in the Itch Cycle?

Does your dog seem to be constantly scratching, licking, chewing, or rubbing? What starts as a little itch can quickly turn into a frustrating cycle of irritation and discomfort!

The Itch Cycle:

1. Trigger: Allergies, fleas, infections, or other skin conditions cause irritation.
2. Itch: The irritated skin sends signals that make your dog feel itchy.
3. Scratch: Your dog scratches, licks, or chews to find relief.
4. Skin Damage: Constant scratching damages the skin, causing redness, inflammation, and sometimes infection.
5. More Itch: The damaged skin becomes even more irritated, and the cycle starts all over again!

The good news? We can help break the cycle!

At All4Paws Vet Clinic, we understand how uncomfortable itchy skin can be for your furry family members. Our team can help identify the underlying cause and develop a treatment plan to get your pet feeling comfortable again.

Don’t wait until a little itch becomes a big problem!

Call us today to schedule an appointment!

Because every pet deserves to feel comfortable in their own skin!

Fall is here BUT the ticks did NOT get the memo :

Cooler weather does NOT mean it is time to stop thinking about ticks.

Ticks can remain active well into the fall and some species can be active during mild periods even AFTER colder weather arrives.

As you and your pets enjoy fall walks, hiking, playing in the leaves and spending more time outside, remember to :

• Keep your pet’s tick prevention current.
• Check around the ears, neck and collar.
• Look between the toes and around the legs.
• Check under the tail and around the groin.
• Run your hands over your pet after time outdoors.
• Do NOT forget to check yourself too.

One of the easiest mistakes to make is thinking “tick season is over.”

In New Jersey, tick prevention is something we recommend discussing with your veterinarian throughout the year.

QUESTION OF THE DAY :

What is your favorite place you have taken your pet on a hike?

HALLOWEEN CANDY SEASON IS HERE — KEEP THOSE PAWS OUT OF THE CANDY BOWL :

October means Halloween treats are starting to appear around the house, BUT some of our favorites can cause serious problems for our pets.

A few things to keep safely out of reach :

Chocolate — especially dark and baking chocolate, can be toxic to dogs and cats.

Sugar-free candy and gum — some products contain xylitol, which can be extremely dangerous to dogs.

Raisins — can cause serious kidney problems in dogs, even in relatively small amounts.

Candy wrappers — sometimes the candy isn’t the biggest problem. Foil and plastic wrappers can cause choking or intestinal obstruction if swallowed.

Large amounts of fatty or sugary treats — can cause significant stomach upset and, in some pets, potentially contribute to pancreatitis.

A good rule for October :

Human candy stays with the humans. Pet treats stay with the pets.

If you think your pet has eaten something they should NOT have, do NOT wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your veterinarian or an animal poison-control service for guidance.

And be honest.

Who has a dog or cat that would absolutely raid the Halloween candy if given the opportunity?

Tell us your little candy thief’s name in the comments.

Fall is here! 🍂🐾

There is something so quietly powerful about an older dog just taking it all in. Those grey muzzles have seen things, loved deeply, and shown up every single day without fail.

October is a great reminder to slow down and cherish every single walk. 🧡

MONDAY MORNING PET CHECK-IN :

A new week is here, and we want to know how the four-legged members of the family are doing.

If your pet could choose ONE thing to do today, what would it be?

A long walk?
An extra treat?
A car ride?
Chasing a ball?
Sleeping on the couch all day?
Or causing complete chaos around the house?

Tell us your pet’s name + their perfect Monday in the comments.

Even better — share a photo so we can see who’s answering.

We hope all of our All4Paws families have a wonderful week. Stay tuned this month for some important fall and Halloween pet safety tips.
