Hello all my fah followers,

Hopefully you all remember me, JJ, the retired hospital cat/blood donor/ king of the litter box. I was diagnosed with diabetes and arthritis, so I went home to live out my golden years at Sarah's house. 18 and still feline fine. 😸

Well after 7 years of twice daily insulin injections, special diets, my mom making her daily schedule around me, and some catitude...I am in remission once again! 🎉

There are two types of diabetes, but cats are usually type 2. That means their pancreas still produces some insulin but struggles due to insulin resistance. 💉

My mom says I still have to stay on my low carb, high protein diet, but I sure do love my wet food so I dont mind. She also says I have to watch my weight, which is so not fair because I see her eating late night snacks without me. Sometimes I still have to wear this thing called a freestyle libre which records my blood sugars for several days, because after 2 pokes for blood I like to bite and hiss at mom and dad to try and get them to stop. 🐟
