The Pick of the Pumpkin Patch ๐ŸŽƒ

Meet Winona, a 10-month-old shepherd mix with ears so big she could probably hear trick-or-treaters coming from three streets over! She found her very own pumpkin for her photo shoot and plopped a paw right on top of it, just to make sure nobody else got any ideas.

Winona came to us as a stray, and this big, busy world is still pretty new to her. She likes to take her time getting to know someone new, so a calm, quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace would be the sweetest Halloween treat she could ask for. Sheโ€™s a smart girl who is still a puppy at heart, and sheโ€™s going to shine with a family who loves teaching with kindness and rewards.

Winona weighs about 36 pounds and would do best with kids 8 and up. If you have a dog at home, bring them along to meet her and our team will help with the introduction. She hasnโ€™t met a kitty here yet, so stay tuned on that one! ๐Ÿ‘ป

Leeloo here has been looking for a home so hard that she's practically gone cross-eyed. But don't let the look on her face fool you. She's a happy, healthy senior girl who has nothing but love to share with any human who would be willing to open up their heart to her.

This senior sweetheart is looking for a quiet, calm space to call home in her golden years.๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’• She's friendly, affectionate, and will even consider living with another furry roommate-- though she can sometimes be very thorough in her list of requirements when it comes to sharing her space with other felines.

All she asks for in return is the promise that you can love her forever.

Leeloo still has a spring in her step, a love for all things playtime, and the hope that she can spend the rest of her life feeling loved. She'll be waiting eagerly to meet you in our cattery, so stop by anytime! ๐Ÿพ

Apollo Is Ready for a Place to Land ๐Ÿ’™

โ€œI spend a lot of time with him, and Sunday was the hardest day Iโ€™ve seen him have. I donโ€™t often cry when I put a dog back, but I did with him.โ€

One of Apolloโ€™s biggest fans here shared that with us, and they arenโ€™t the only one worried about him. This handsome 4-year-old has been waiting with us a long time. He used to bounce out the door for every walk and dive into his puzzles with his whole heart, but lately that spark has dimmed. When itโ€™s time to head back inside, he plants all 82 pounds of himself and puts on the brakes. Heโ€™s tired of shelter life, and we canโ€™t blame him one bit.

Even on his harder days, Apollo still makes his way to the people he knows. Heโ€™ll hop up on the bench beside you and climb halfway into your lap for pets. At bath time he walks straight into the tub like a gentleman, then wants to play with a stuffie while he dries off. Under all that shelter stress is a sweet, goofy boy who is so ready to be somebodyโ€™s dog for good.

Apollo is hoping for a calm, quieter home where he can finally exhale, with a person who loves daily walks and teaching with kindness and rewards. He passed his cat test and has lived happily with kitties before. Kids 10 and up are a great fit, and heโ€™s been housebroken in his past homes. Heโ€™s picky about his dog friends, so if you have a pup at home, bring them with you and our team will help with the introduction to make sure itโ€™s a good match.

Kane and Chase Are a Two-for-One Kind of Love ๐Ÿพ

That's Kane and Chase for you. Why play tug with a toy when you can both grab on and run the yard together? These two do everything as a team, and they've been inseparable for as long as anyone's known them.

Kane is the confident brother, first to march up and investigate anything new. Chase is the gentler one, a little shy with the world until he watches Kane lead the way, and then he finds his courage too. Kane is three and about 72 pounds; Chase is two and around 66, and both are handsome, sturdy pittie mixes who light up the second they get to be outside together.

A few treats and a little patience go a long way with these boys. Because they do best in a home they fully trust, they're looking for teens fourteen and up. Both passed their cat tests, so a calm cat could work with slow introductions. They already have each other, and an easygoing meet and greet would tell us how they feel about any other pups. Chase is mostly house-trained, Kane is building his routine, and both are crate-trained.

They come as a pair, and that part's non-negotiable. Adopt Kane and Chase together, and you get a front-row seat to the goofiest, most devoted friendship around. Come meet the brothers at HSHC and see if your family has room for two! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ

One little Survivor is in need of a home... ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’”

When Venus Flytrap arrived on our doorstep, covered in wounds and in desperate need of help, it was clear that this sweet, 6-year-old cat had not known much kindness during her time as a stray.

Now, we're hoping our community can turn her luck around. ๐Ÿ˜ป

Venus Flytrap is looking for someone very special to come to her rescue. Recently, our medical team discovered that the wounds on her face and front feet are likely a result of an autoimmune disease, and while she has responded well to treatment in our care, she will need a committed adopter who can manage her lifelong care and treatment.

But Venus is so much more than just her skin. She is a sweet, amazing girl who may have never known a life of comfort before now.๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’— Her previous foster shared that when given the chance to relax in a home, she likes to show off her playful side, sharing her affection with the people she grew close to and taking every chance she got to bask in the glory of a sunny window or enjoy a dash of catnip.

Now, Venus has returned from foster, and she needs someone who can promise her a true lifetime of love. She's litter box trained, has lived briefly with another cat in the home, and just needs one chance to prove that she can be your loyal companion for life. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•
