Meet Kala, one of our incredible Veterinary Technicians! 🐾
Whether she’s caring for our surgical patients, assisting in exam rooms, or giving extra belly rubs, Kala brings heart, passion, and dedication to everything she does. We sat down with Kala to learn a little more about her journey into veterinary medicine and what keeps her inspired every day.
What first inspired you to pursue a career as a veterinary technician?
"I’ve always loved animals for as long as I can remember. Used to go around as a young child trying to save any that I could."
What is the absolute best and most rewarding part of your workday?
"Seeing all the happy patients we have helped."
If you could talk to pets for five minutes, what is the first thing you would ask them?
"How has your life been, and what do you think of your life now?"
What is one piece of advice you wish every pet owner knew?
"We care deeply about your pet as if they were our own. We feel the joy and the pain that owners feel, and we will always try our best for them."

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Sabrina, one of our wonderful front desk team members! Sabrina brings so much kindness, patience, and understanding to our clients, their four-legged babies, and our entire staff every single day.
We sat down with Sabrina to ask her a few questions so you can get to know her a little better:
What is your absolute favorite trick for calming down a nervous pet in the lobby?
"Offering Lean Treats or a cookie (if okayed by the owner!), kneeling down close to them rather than standing tall so I’m not hovering or looking like a threat, and offering slow, gentle pets."

What is one thing you wish every pet parent knew about the front desk?
"Just how much we’re tackling in a single moment! Between answering phone calls, checking clients in and out, and keeping up with our daily duties, we have a lot on our plates. We wish clients knew that a little patience and extra understanding goes a very long way!"

What was the exact moment you knew you wanted to work in veterinary care?
"When I was six years old, my Doberman Pinscher suffered a heart attack. I stayed in the backseat with her all the way to the vet, and she passed away with her head in my lap. I held her for what felt like hours, whispering to her that she’d be okay. That moment stayed with me forever."

What is your favorite reward or treat to give patients when they walk through the door?
"Happy smiles combined with plenty of positive socializing!"
