For Dogs: Frozen Banana–Blueberry Buttons
Ingredients
* 1 ripe banana
* ½ cup unsweetened blueberries, fresh or frozen
* ¼ cup water
Preparation
1. Blend everything until smooth.
2. Spoon into small silicone molds or make teaspoon-sized drops on a lined tray.
3. Freeze for at least 3 hours.
4. Let each treat soften for 1–2 minutes before serving.
Serving: Start with ½ button for small dogs, 1 for medium dogs, or 1–2 for large dogs. Supervise while eating, especially with dental problems or a tendency to gulp food.
Storage: Keep frozen in a sealed container for up to one month.
Allergen note: Banana and blueberry sensitivities are uncommon but possible. Introduce only a small amount the first time.
For Cats: Salmon–Sweet Potato Mini Bites
Ingredients
* ½ cup fully cooked, unseasoned, boneless and skinless salmon
* 2 tablespoons plain cooked sweet potato, mashed
* 1 tablespoon oat flour
Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Flake the salmon carefully, checking again for bones.
3. Mix with the sweet potato and oat flour.
4. Form approximately 28–32 pea-sized bites.
5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until firm, then cool completely.
Serving: Offer one bite initially. Most cats should receive only one or two at a time.
Storage: Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to one month.
Allergen note: Contains fish and oats. Cats with fish sensitivities, urinary or kidney conditions, or prescription diets should receive these only with veterinary approval.
