Doglandia NW1 videos from our trial in Centralia last weekend. My first ever "drop" fault for his toy touching the ground in the interior, which took us out of overall placement. Even all these years later I can still do silly things 🤣 50 dogs in the trial (it goes quickly!), our total working time was 1:01.44, 3rd place in containers. This was a very fun trial and I'm so happy we are getting back to NACSW after not playing in the organization for the last several years. Congrats to NDT friends Tundra the Schip and Ari the IG for titling as well!

A few lovely shots from the UKC Elite Shed Dog trial at my property in September. Guster finished his Working Shed Dog title and earned 25pts in the champion class that weekend. Plus, I couldn't complain about the commute!

New Introduction to Nose Work group class has open spots! Start date is Tuesday Sept. 16th at 6:30pm and will run for 4 weeks. $165. ⁣⁣

This foundation class focuses on building confidence, independence, and odor value right from the start. Dogs of all ages and breeds are welcome, along with competition or just for enrichment goals. Since teams search one at a time while only the humans watch, dog reactive dogs are also welcome (as long as they can wait quietly in their vehicles between searches). This particular class will be indoors or under cover for all weeks. Initial odor is provided to all students. Message me for the registration link!

Single day workshop on March 30th at 10am: Toy Rewards for Dog Sports! ⁣

If you have a dog who loves toys but you aren't sure how to purposefully incorporate them into training for dog sports (just for fun or competition), this is for you! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We'll discuss introducing clear marker systems for toy rewards, how to choose appropriate toys for training and safety, reading and listening to your dog's body language while playing, and how to avoid common issues. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This workshop doesn't have any pre-required skills, but an intro level knowledge of clicker or marker training is useful as well as a dog who knows a few basic cues already. Dogs joining us should already enjoy and want to interact with toys; this is not a "drive building" class. We will have no dog to dog greetings during sessions and will work in distanced small groups during working times; dogs will otherwise need to chill in their vehicles so the humans can focus on discussion. If you are unsure if this would be an appropriate workshop for your team, just ask me! ⁣This workshop is $75 and will run for about 3 hours, or more depending on how nerdy we get 🤓 ⁣

New Intro to Nose Work group class starting March 22nd at 1pm! ⁣

Dogs will be introduced to target odor on week 2 in this class; birch odor is provided to students. Class is 4 weeks long and limited to a small number of teams (not appropriate for human reactive dogs); we’ll be focusing on how to build odor value, handler reinforcement and beginning handling, and how to set up odor puzzles at home/on outings. Tuition is $165. ⁣⁣
