Meet Wilhemina!

Wilhemina is a 4-year-old white and red mixed-breed female with a calm, gentle presence. She arrived at Nassau County Animal Services on April 11, 2026 and is now looking for her next home.

Wilhemina enjoys the company of other dogs, but she doesn’t require a canine companion to be happy. She’s past the puppy stage and ready to settle into a loving home where she can relax, bond, and be part of the family.

Slinky is a 7-month-old brindle mixed-breed male with a fun, growing personality and lots of potential ahead of him. Currently at Nassau County Animal Services since April 4, 2026, he’s still in his puppy-to-teen stage and learning as he goes.

He’ll do best in a patient, committed home ready to guide him with basic training, structure, and love as he grows into a loyal companion.

Spend a beautiful morning surrounded by blooming sunflowers that you can pick, local vendors, sweet treats, and a relaxing outdoor atmosphere. We will be onsite with adoptable dogs ready to meet visitors and soak up the sunshine.

Opening of the Beaches – May 16, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Join the community for the 3rd Annual Opening of the Beaches celebration in Fernandina Beach. We’re in the smile business, and last week brought plenty of them!

Thirty-four pets found loving new homes, and three more were happily reunited with their families.

During that same time, forty-seven animals came into our care, and they’re now waiting for their own happy endings.

A very nice citizen whose pet unfortunately passed away was kind enough to donate $500 of pet food. Alex at Pet Supermarket on Sadler picked us as the recipient. We are very sorry that their beloved pet passed away but we hope they know this food will help a lot of animals in our community. We will be utilizing this food through our Pet Pantry and are so very grateful. Thank you kind citizen, thank you Alex, and thank you Nick one of our Animal Control Officers for transporting the food for us. We appreciate all of you!
