😎 Summer Heat & Pet Safety 🐾

Hot weather can be dangerous for pets - here are a few simple ways to keep your furry family members safe this summer:

💧ALWAYS provide plenty of fresh water & access to shade
🚗NEVER leave pets in parked cars - temperatures rise dangerously fast, even with windows cracked
🔥AVOID hot asphalt than can burn paws - stick to morning or evening walks when it's cooler outside
🐕LIMIT exercise and play during peak heat hours
⚠️WATCH for signs of heat stroke - excessive panting, drooling, weakness or lethargy, discolored gums, vomiting or diarrhea, collapse

If you notice signs of heat stroke, move your pet to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Stay cool and stay safe this summer! 😎🐾

💙 Memorial Day Closure Notice 💙

Our clinic will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th.

If your pet needs medication refills or you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us early this week so we can make sure your furry family members are taken care of before the holiday weekend.

A doctor will still be on call for emergency situations during the closure.

We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend! 🐾

It's Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week, and we couldn't let it pass without celebrating the real MVPs of our clinic - our front desk team! 🐾

They answer every call (even the ones that start with "this might be a weird question..."), greet every wagging tail and nervous pet parent, juggle schedules like pros and somehow still remember your pet's name...and probably their favorite treat.

They're part receptionist, part therapist, part traffic controller, and occasionally part detective ("Wait...is this Bella the lab or Bella the cat?" 😄).

But most importantly, they're the heart of our clinic - making every visit smoother, calmer, and a whole lot more welcoming.

So, this week, we're sending a huge THANK YOU to the smiling faces at our front desk. We truly couldn't do it without you 💙

If you see them this week, give them a little extra love -they've earned it!

Another successful community SPAY/NEUTER DAY in the books. Forty-six more cats who will be healthier not contribute to cat over-population!

These talented women all generously donated a precious day off to give back to the animals and the community they love. A big THANK YOU for their hard and skilled work!

Also a thank you to YOU for rounding up your cats on a cold morning and bringing them in. We couldn’t do it without you. Through generous free will donations, we were able to easily cover the costs of our surgery materials and anesthetic drugs and give back to the Humane Society of Otter Tail County who works tirelessly for this and other animal welfare causes.

Thank you kind people of Fergus Falls and Otter Tail county.

🐾Annual Cat Spay/Neuter Day Reminder!🐾
We've received a large number of submission forms for our upcoming Annual Cat Spay/Neuter Day - thank you for the amazing response and for helping us make a difference in our community! ❤

Please remember - submitting a form does NOT guarantee a surgery spot. We will only be able to accept the first 40 cats when our doors open at 9 that morning.

📌Important Details:
- Cats MUST arrive in their own secure carrier or live trap.
- Each cat will be spayed/neutered.
- Each cat will receive a rabies vaccine.
- Each cat will have their ear tipped for easy identification.
NO Exceptions to these requirements

📣Lobby Closure Notice - Saturday, February 28th 🐾

On Saturday, February 28, our lobby at Companion Animal Hospital will be closed as we host our 3rd Annual Feline Spay & Neuter Clinic. 🐈💙

This special clinic allows us to focus on helping cats in our community receive important spay and neuter services - and we're proud to continue this annual event!

We will return to our normal Saturday hours the following Saturday March 7th.

🚨Emergency Care:
We will still be available for emergencies. If you need urgent assistance, please call the clinic phone and follow the prompts so we can help you as quickly as possible.
