Charlie & Margo have officially completed their Day Training program and private lessons! ✨🐾

These two girls started off with a bit of anxiety and uncertainty. They would sometimes react when they weren’t sure about something, had very little food motivation, and would pull on the leash when they decided they needed to get somewhere faster.

Earlier this week, we met for their follow-up lesson and put all of their hard work to the test! We walked downtown, passed kids riding bikes and people walking by, walked along the river and through a tunnel, and even tackled some steep stairs. After all of that excitement, we ended with some settling to decompress—and Margo even decided to lay down for a little nap.

These two have come so far. They’re more confident, willing to try new things with the guidance of their handlers, and much more willing to check in and offer engagement (especially when cheese is involved!). Their leash manners have made walks so much easier, and they’ve learned that they can settle calmly alongside other people and in new environments.

I’m so proud of how far these girls have come, and I can’t wait to continue watching their confidence grow as they experience new things! 🐾✨

Addy graduated from her 4-week Day Training Program! ✨🐾

This girl is fun, sweet, and has lots of drive to learn new things! Addy is still a young, growing puppy, but over the past few weeks, she has learned so much.

She’s learned how to calmly greet new people, build strong engagement with her handler, and develop a clear communication system. She’s also learning that it’s okay to turn her brain off and settle, even when distractions are happening around her.

A big focus has been helping Addy become more confident around other dogs. She’s learning that some dogs can be fun friends, while other times, she doesn’t need to interact at all. Instead, she’s learning to check in with her handler when she’s feeling unsure about something and to trust in our relationship. 🤍

Addy has also built a great foundation for her recall, which will help give her more freedom and independence as she continues to grow.

I’m so excited to continue watching this sweet girl grow alongside her owners and can’t wait to have her back for our daycare program! 🐾✨

Welcome, Dale! ✨🐾

You might remember Dale! He’s been coming to StellarK9 since he was a pup for daycare and boarding, and now that he’s 9 months old, he’s ready for his official Day Training Program!

Dale is such a sweet boy, but his mind wants to go 100% all the time, while his body gets tired out more easily. So, one of our biggest focuses throughout his training has been teaching him an off switch and how to find a calm state of mind.

Before starting training, Dale struggled to settle outside of his kennel. Over the last few weeks, he’s already made so much progress! He’s learning how to settle, practicing threshold manners so he can calmly walk out of his kennel and through the outside door, and continuing to improve his obedience—especially his leash manners.

With only a few more weeks left in his program, I can’t wait to keep working with Dale and his owners and see just how much more progress he makes! 🤍🐾

Banks officially graduated from his Day Training Program a few weeks ago! ✨🐾

Throughout his training, Banks learned how to better manage his emotions when he’s out and about, improved his engagement and communication with his handler, strengthened his obedience, and learned how to settle even when distractions are happening around him.

At his final lesson, Banks was able to calmly walk past people and playful kids, stay engaged while walking near the farmers market, and—best of all—choose to engage with his owner despite everything going on around him.

Banks has come such a long way, and he is such a good boy! I can’t wait to continue watching the progress he and his owners make together. 🤍🐾

Welcome, Addy! ✨🐾

Addy is a young puppy with lots of energy and an eagerness to learn! She loves using her brain and is always ready to take on whatever comes her way.

Over the last few weeks, Addy has been working hard on learning a calm state of mind around distractions, building neutrality around people and other dogs, redirecting her jumping and puppy biting when she gets overly excited, and developing clear communication and engagement with her handler.

She has already come so far, and I’m so proud of all the progress she’s made! I can’t wait to continue working with her and help her owners learn how to confidently handle her excitement while out on walks, traveling together, and welcoming guests into their home. Addy has such a bright future ahead of her! 💛🐾

Welcome back, Banks! ✨🐾

Banks completed his first Day Train as a puppy, and he has been coming back ever since for boarding, daycare, and hikes! He has also become an awesome lesson helper whenever I need a calm and neutral dog to help another dog learn. 🐾

Banks does so well in environments he’s familiar with, but he’s been working through learning how to settle around distractions and remain neutral around people and dogs when he’s out and about. When things feel overwhelming, he can react out of fear and uncertainty, so he’s back for another Day Train to focus on these specific goals!

Over the last few weeks, Banks has been working hard on building a calm state of mind while walking around town, learning to create his own “off switch” around exciting distractions, practicing redirection when he needs guidance, and building stronger handler engagement.

Banks is such a good boy and loves to work. It has been so fun watching him and his owners continue to grow together and improve at each weekly lesson. I can’t wait to keep watching their progress and see all their hard work pay off! 🐾✨

Bernie and his owners have officially completed their lesson package! 🐾✨ All their hard work and dedication has truly paid off!

Bernie has made so much progress — he now has great leash manners, his relationship with his owners has grown so much, and the structure and consistency added into his daily routine has helped him thrive.

Learning how to have a calmer state of mind has been a huge game changer for Bernie. He no longer feels the need to react to every dog he sees, and instead he’s learning to look to his owners and make better choices.

The best part of it all? Bernie is still his happy, fun-loving self! His owners can continue enjoying all the things they love doing together while also feeling more confident trying new things with him.

I know his owners will continue putting in the work at home, and I can’t wait to see how much more they continue to grow together as a team! 🐶✨
