Soapy Puppy's Bed & Biscuit LLC

It's spooky season! A couple things:

We've been made aware that a local grooming business has announced it's closing and while we're always sad to see pets lose a trusted part of their routines, we're going to try to accommodate the change should you need us. Start by using messenger to see if we have wiggle room so you don't have to book out too far.

Speaking of booking out: I know it seems crazy to think about the holiday schedule when the temps will be near 90° tomorrow, but please plan ahead! We're booking out for grooming and boarding.

I will be out for a week starting December 3rd for surgery (nothing serious). So please plan grooming appts around that week. Our last day of holiday grooming will be Dec 22nd.

Now for the fun part 🎃👻🦇🕷
Who's up for a give-a-way? Put a picture of your pet dressed up in the comment section and share this post! We'll choose by staff vote Sunday evening.

Trying to stay away from some AI generated content, but some are just too fun. We like to think all dogs feel this way after a groom, but we understand that some aren't fans. We load them up with kisses and treats and hope that they forgive us for making them less stinky.

Normally I wouldn't address negative reviews publically. We don't have many in the 9 years we've been in business and like all businesses, we aren't going to make everyone happy.

But this review made some serious allegations that we have to address. So here is a quick clarification:

Soapy Puppy’s Bed & Biscuit has NEVER been used for wildlife rehabilitation. Ever. No wildlife has been housed, treated, stabilized or rehabilitated at our facility, and the pets in our care have never been exposed to wildlife through my rehabilitation work. DNR spoke to this person nearly 3 months ago, confirming that no wildlife are stabilized or housed at Soapy Puppy.

Separately, when I have helped stabilize wildlife emergencies (primarily bunnies and squirrels) in our rural area, where resources are incredibly limited... I work with area animal professionals/rescues and communicate with the MN DNR regarding wildlife care and permitting. I have completed the small animal exam but am not registered because I do not have the capacity to do this work full time in a limited resource area. Something I'm working with the DNR on because they repeatedly remind me that it's needed here. I have not made any decisions on whether I will continue. I work closely with registered wildlife rehabbers all over the state and transport to them when there are openings. That work happens completely separate from Soapy Puppy.

I’m incredibly proud of the care we provide our clients...and I never want anyone worrying about their pet’s safety because of misinformation. ❤️ Reviews like this, without directly asking us...affect our business, the work we do with rescues, people in need of emergency care for their pets and my staff.

Our community has lost a young entrepreneur, mother, advocate and so much more.

We're extending our previously mentioned packages until Sunday.. with 20% of each going to help support her family as they adjust to this tragedy and plan her Celebration of Life.

Sadly, on September 21, we suddenly lost our mom, Katrina Hoeper (43)… morgan stanley needs your support for Help Support Katrina Hoeper’s Children and Family

Many of you know this, but I (Krystyne) try to step up in many ways to help support and provide in our community. Taking over this boarding facility was one of them. Creating safe spaces for youth, working with Rural CEP and Trans Em, assisting the Humane Society, organizing things like Food Drives and the start of our HART program are other ways.

I try to keep business, advocacy and other facets of my life separate.... but wearing so many hats can be challenging sometimes.

As some of you know, I made the decision last minute to run for State Senate in District 9. Another "see a need, fill a need" moment and it's been incredibly rewarding. If you'd like to follow my campaign page: you can find me at Krystyne Knutson for SD9. Politics can be incredibly polarizing these days. I guess my biggest hope is that we find commonality, kindness and peace.... while upholding democracy and the constitution, regardless of your party values.

But mostly; I want to thank my family, my staff and my clients for supporting me, understanding schedule changes and just the incredible amount of love you've poured on me recently. Thank you 💕
