PSA: To decrease the number of unwanted kitten litters, we strongly encourage everyone to schedule a spay appointment for their female cats. Many cats will stop cycling in the fall and restart in January or February. This leads to many kittens being born in early spring. These cats can have 2-3 litters per year, and the kittens can come into heat at 6 months, get bred and deliver a litter at 8 months old. With an average of 2 litters per year and 4 kittens per litter, you can have 36 cats in less than 2 years.
We are already booking into November, so please call today to schedule your appointment. We recommend scheduling your kittens’ spay appointments for when they are around 6 months of age, before they have a litter.
As a reminder, we are not currently taking on new clients. We suggest you call your current veterinary clinic and schedule with them as they are certainly as busy as we are.

Hello, all. We have a client who is unable to exercise his dogs due to his own health. He requested we ask for new home(s) for his 2 large labradoodles. They are both fixed and have ideal weights of 70-80 pounds. The female is 8 years old and the male is 9 years old. They are housebroken and trained to obey basic commands. If you or anyone you know is interested, please call the clinic.

I want to commend the Idaho County Fair Board and volunteers for all the blood, sweat, and tears needed to produce a great 2026 Idaho County Fair. It was my privilege and pleasure to help the participants and families - both at the fair and throughout the year - keep their animals growing and healthy. The amount of work these kids and families put into their projects is incredible. - Dr. Kim

A big shout out to a local 4-H club in Kamiah - Big Butte Buckaroos. These kids raised a large sum of money and voted to donate it to our depleted Angel Fund. This fund is used to provide care to stray animals brought in by Good Samaritans, and low-income persons with animals who are sick or injured.
The kids in this club have very big hearts, and we are grateful for the donation. Thank you, Big Butte Buckaroos!

Edit - We have had some questions about donating to our Angel Fund. For anyone interested, you can donate by: 1) mailing a check and putting a note in the memo or on a note in the envelope stating you'd like it donated to the Angel Fund; 2) you can call with a credit/debit card donation - no credit card fee will be added; or 3) if you are already up here paying for your own animal, you can pay more than your bill and let us know you want the excess put into the Angel Fund. Thank you for your interest and generosity.
