Puppy Day Camp puppies worked so hard today!

Trooper started his loose leash walking foundation, following a food lure and finding the heel position.

Bogey worked on establishing a working relationship with the trainers and the place concept.

Flash worked on going into the down position and holding his sit and down for longer periods.

Roxie learned the settle position, which will be helpful for vet exams.

Our foundation dogs made a ton of progress at Day Train today!

Ellie worked on her leash and obedience skills outside with distractions today. This was hard work for this social butterfly, but she did well ignoring the other dog, even when he ran passed for a treat.

Scoobs started distraction training as well today, just working on his leash work and obedience foundation in the front of the building. He worked on this with his muzzle on and off!

Wally started to develop a relationship with his trainer, and happily worked on place and sit.

Chevy is very strong and also a pretty low confidence and fearful guy — so the new tasks of box work was pretty scary, but he did so well figuring it out! He also worked on his loose leash walking foundation.

Say hello to Bogey! This young chap started Puppy Day Camp today, to work on added training and socialization.

We’d like to introduce Wally! This big guy is very sweet and social, but he’s also very strong and pulls really hard on the mean. His owner would like to be able to walk him more often to burn off energy.

Our foundation dogs rocked Day Train today!

Bernie deal with a high level of debilitating fear, mostly when he’s outdoors. We’re slowly working on helping him gain confidence outside — today we spent lots of time just hanging outside around the loud noises of the shopping plaza. He did so well and was able to even settle and lay down! He also worked with another dog and did very well with his obedience.

Banks, Kacey and Ted all worked on early distraction training. They worked on their obedience foundation in the front of the shopping plaza, and did well maintaining loose leash walking and attention on the trainer.

Buddy heighten his foundation work with adding box work and starting his loose leash walking foundation.

We took George and Willa on a field trip to the farm store to work on their obedience in public. They did a great job ignoring each other and the distractions in the store!

We’d like to welcome Chevy to our Day Train program!

Chevy is a farm dog that works on a cattle ranch, but he has exhibited some behaviors that his family would like to get under control. He often doesn’t want people outside of his family on his property, and will very deliberately tell his mom no when she calls him and he doesn’t feel like coming in. So he’s here to work on his self control and to clean up his reliability with obedience.
