PAW Stoppers Inc. 501 (c) (3) non-profit providing funds to law enforcement agencies for police canine interests. With this in mind, P.A.W.

Police canines are one of the most valuable resources a police department can have. Along with their vigorous work schedule, these highly intelligent canines go through extensive training sessions on a regular basis to keep their skills at the highest level possible. Unfortunately, it's not always possible for law enforcement agencies to provide adequate funding for the care, training, and maintenance for these canines while on duty, or after they retire. Stoppers was founded with the basic purpose of assisting Law Enforcement agencies with the appropriation and distribution of funding for police canine related interests.

We are saddened to hear about the loss of one of our members, K9 Ikar.

“Ikar served as a St. Louis County Police Canine for 7 years. DSN 51. Ikar assisted in the arrest of numerous suspects during his career. Ikar was also utilized by the United States Marshals, DEA and several outside agencies during his career. Ikar built a forever bond with not just his handler but all of the canine officers of St. Louis County and he would want to thank each one of them personally for all the help they provided him during his career. After his retirement, Ikar became a family dog who would lay around with us and watch movies while chewing on his Kong and loved the affection from his family and will be greatly missed.”

Please keep his handler Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers while they navigate such a large loss. Rest easy, Ikar. You were a good boy đź’™

While this isn’t a necessarily a dog post, it is a post to honor one of the good ones.

10 years ago, St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder was shot and killed in the line of duty. It shook the community.

Officer Snyder had applied for the K9 process prior to his death. To honor and remember Blake, Brandon has taken his late K9 Yago and K9 Nero for a visit a handful of times over the past years.

Blake is remembered every day for his incredible commitment and service to the community he served. He is never forgotten 💙🖤
