Our dear girl Kona crossed the Rainbow Bridge last week, and we will deeply miss her. 🌈🤍

I still remember the first time I met Kona. It was a Monday, and I was at her house picking up her brother, Hilo. She greeted me at the door, so excited and ready to come along, but I couldn’t take her with me that day.

The following Wednesday, I came back—and this time, both pups came with me.

From that very first ride, Kona was special. She would sit next to me in the van, excited but gentle, watching everything we did. Every time I stopped to pick up another dog, I would tell her, “Stay, Kona,” and she would stay right there, never even trying to get out. Before long, she knew the whole route, greeting each dog as we picked them up one by one.

Even in her last weeks, Kona was still our happy, playful girl—always silly, always sweet, and completely obsessed with the water hose, which became our own little game. And, of course, she was always there to keep her brother in line.

Camp won’t be quite the same without her. But this place is filled with memories of Kona. Every little corner seems to hold a piece of her, and in that way, she will always be part of our camp and part of our story.

You were so very loved, our dear girl. 🤍

Rest peacefully, Kona. 🌈
