It was a nice afternoon for these animal lovers to learn about goats, peafowl, rabbits, chickens and cows! And they were really listening because when they were quizzed at the end they all were spot on with their answers!!

Today's Ag for Passive Income focused on companion plants. We learned that Marigolds are often planted along gardens and among certain vegetable and herb plants to keep unwanted insects and pests away. We used Miracle Grow Garden soil and filled our planters. Next we explored the color and shape of the Marigold seeds then planted two different types of marigolds. We learned that the seeds need sun, warmth and water to grow. Last we reviewed the plants or herbs we chose last week and received our first homework assignment: learn about their chosen plant and how to market it!

Our first session of our Agriculture for Passive Income included exploring herbs. We looked and smelled basil, dill, sage, and lemongrass. Then we talked about popular landscaping trees and shrubs. We looked at a Silver Maple clipping and Japanese Golden Spindle.

We learned that seeds can be planted to grow plants and trees and that clippings from a mother plant can be propogated in water to produce roots for planting. Established plants can also be purchased to grow.

We clipped clippings from a Japanese Spindle shrub to take home as homework to propogate!

Last we selected the plants we want to grow for passive income. Everyone made great choices! Can't wait to get growing!
