El DOGO Pet Grooming

El DOGO Pet Grooming 1 :1 Personalized, Stress Free Premium Pet Grooming Service. Only Small breed dogs up to 20lbs and Cats. ( prices vary). I can not keep dogs once they are done.

Specialize on Rescues, Senior Puppies and pets with anxiety, trauma and behavioral issues that makes them challenging to groom at a regular shop. ABOUT ME
I am a Professional Pet Groomer and Veterinary Technician with more than 28 yrs experience. Owned my shop for 15 years before moving to Colorado 9 years ago working at several grooming shops. I recently retired working at a shop and later decid

ed to work from home at my own pace, providing a stress free environment to all pets, especially anxious, seniors and rescue pets

I wanted to offer a more personalized experience with less stress for pets and that is how El DOGO was born. I do not think I would ever be able to fully retire when grooming pets is what gives me so much joy. ABOUT MY SERVICES
My full bath and full grooming services are exclusive for small breed dogs and cats no bigger than 25 pounds. (*Sorry No thick double coated shedding breeds like Corgis). Just
I offer nail trimming ,teeth brushing, a**l gland expression for all pets breeds and sizes

APPOINTMENTS ARE BY RESERVED TIME ONLY . HOW IT WORKS
My services are one on one, expedite from start to finish. Each appointment can lasts 45min, 60 min or 90 minutes all depending on your pets needs and services requested. Pet owners should be in location by the time of pick up. I have no kennels to keep them. You will be notified 30 minutes ahead your dog is ready in order for you to be here to pick up your pet. Since I work by reserved appointment and one on one, you need to pick up your dog once is done, so I can clean and disinfect the grooming area preparing for the next pet scheduled to groom after yours. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated and required
* Late pick up Fee of $10 per pet applies after10 minutes
* No show fee of $30 per pet applies

OWNER STAYING WITH PET
I do not recommend owner staying with their pets because they tend to misbehave more and your presence sends a message to your pet that you need to be there so he can feel safe. This makes the pet even more nervous and the grooming process more challenging, even dangerous to perform. However, if you want to try staying with your pet is an additional $45 on top of the grooming services, if the grooming last more than 90 minutes is an additional $65 per hour. The presence of the pet owner can double or triple the time, because the pet is distracted and I work by the hour. * In case we need to interrupt and stop the grooming process due to the pet being stressed, you will still need to pay the base fee ($65-$75) plus the $45 owner present fee. This service is only provided at 8am. I do not rush your pets haircut, and I will make sure they are safe and happy. My grooming equipment is designed for small pets and designed to reduce stress. The area is quiet and without distractions. I work with precision, extra care and professionalism. We do not sedate nor accept pets under sedation without a veterinary authorization. *Handling fee applies for challenging dogs. I speak English/ Español . Please feel free to message me or text me to the business phone (720)982-3646 with any questions. Allow up to 24hrs to get a respond

A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO ALL MY PET GROOMING CLIENTS:

Always text when you arrive either for drop off or pick up especially for pick up.

Let me know you're here so I can come out and bring your pet to you.

My business is from home, but my grooming area is in the basement. The rest of my house is not part of my grooming business ,I work alone and the rest of the family living in the house work from home as well on their own thing and are not part of the grooming business.
They are not available to take care of the pet grooming clients. We are all pet lovers, but the grooming business is mine and while I am working with a pet in my grooming area in the basement, I cannot be available to take care of the clients that show up at my front door.

Also do not ring the doorbell when you get here. I'm working with rescue animals and animals that are very nervous and the doorbell rings downstairs and the pets relate with " I am ready to go home , my parent is here", of course to what it is the doorbell means to them , that the pet owner is here.

If I am not done, and I just need a few minutes to finish your Pet, it will take even longer because then your Pet gets excited, knowing that you might be here, they can't even hear your voice and then it makes it more difficult to finish and putting me behind on my schedule. I need to finish your Pet on time so I can be ready for the next client.

I have my business at home to work with animals that are nervous in a very quiet environment and having the Pet owners showing ahead of time defeats the purpose . The main reason I stopped working at a regular grooming shop it was because the pet owners kept showing up ahead of time making all the animals excited , especially their own pets when we are working with them and it can be a safety concern

Thank you for your cooperation and if you have any questions, feel free to text me.

🐶❤️ The Right Way to Carry Your Dog

Many people accidentally hold dogs in ways that can cause discomfort, stress, or even injury. Proper support helps your dog feel safe and protects their joints and spine.

✅ Safe ways to carry your dog:

✔️ Support the whole body
Keep your dog’s chest and hindquarters supported evenly.

✔️ Hold them close to your body
This helps your dog feel secure and reduces struggling or anxiety.

✔️ Keep the spine level
A relaxed, horizontal position is usually the most comfortable for small dogs.

🚫 Avoid these common mistakes:

❌ Lifting by the front legs
This can strain the shoulders, elbows, and spine.

❌ Holding vertically for long periods
Dangling legs and unsupported hips can cause discomfort and stress on the back.

❌ Carrying on their back like a baby
Some dogs tolerate it briefly, but many feel vulnerable or uncomfortable in this position.

🐾 Extra tip:
Older dogs, puppies, and dogs with back or joint issues need extra support when being lifted or carried.

💚 Small handling changes can make a big difference in your dog’s comfort, confidence, and long-term well-being.
