Sometimes we have to pivot when we are doing a pet sit.

I am Laura Undem, the West Washington County drop by sitter for Critter Sitter 4 U.

Tonight, 2 wonderful and beloved drop by pet sit puppies made a poor choice and (probably bumped while playing) rooted through an open cabinet and found a bag of pure cacao powder.

Then they added to their troubles by flinging it around the kitchen, into their bed and ate a significant amount. Rockstar drop by sitter Eren saw what had happened when she came tonight to feed and cuddle, and immediately called me to come NOW. She cleaned all of the powder up while I was on my way (only 10 minutes away).

One look at the remains of the bag sent us straight to the car with both dogs. Their Mama was notified while we rushed to the Animal Urgent Care in Fayetteville.

They got us back immediately and assessed the pups. One was fine and happy, one was gassy and seeming more uncomfortable by the minute.

An emetic injection was given to make them vomit, and IV fluids. Then a reversal anti-emetic drug was given. They are back home and have been quite offended by being dosed each with 60 ml of activated charcoal solution.

They are both home snoozing and I will be staying with them tonight, tomorrow night too if needed.

This is what we do. We love your pets like our own.

On a side note, the Animal Urgent Care at Crossover and 16/Huntsville in Fayetteville AR is fantastic!!
