Our Staff
Dr. Upholt

is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After two years in the Air Force in Abilene Texas, he opened a mixed practice in Mt. Pocono, PA. After twelve years he sold the practice and moved to Marathon, NY where he and his wife operate a thoroughbred horse farm. After several years of relief work he decided to start a new practice devoted only

to cats. He still has the horse farm and commutes daily to Fayetteville. He has a special intrest in geriatric cats, including several of his own. Christine

Christine started with the Doctor opening day of the practice. She takes care of the cats, the clients, and tries to keep the office on time and running smooth. She lives in Lacona with her husband John, 2 cats (Keira and Mika) and 2 dogs (Luke and Sunny)

Collene

Joined our team in September 2013. As our receptionist/ office administrator she is often the first person our clients will speak to as well as the last. Collene answers the phones, makes appointments, helps fill medication refill requests, calls and sends appointment reminders, checks in patients, and helps complete you visit. Collene lives in Fulton with her husband, 2 of her 3 children, 2 dogs (Mya and Tiberius) 2 cats (Olivia Kitty and Oliver).

March 17, 2023 marked Cats Only’s 31st year in business and Dr Upholt’s 52nd year as a vet. We have been blessed to be a part of this wonderful community for so long.
We would like to announce that after much contemplation Doc has decided that he is retiring in October 2023. We are all saddened at this news but also happy for Doc as he starts the next phase of his life.
Unfortunately, even after a 2 ½ year search, we were not able to find a new veterinarian to take over the practice. Cats Only will be closing in October, with the last patients being seen at the end of September. We will do our best to see as many patients as possible before we close BUT please realize that we may not be able to see everyone.
Please do not delay in contacting a new veterinary office so that we may transfer the records to their office as soon as possible. If you prefer, we can email your records directly to you as well.
Once records are transferred/sent your account will be inactivated and the records put into storage. As we have a large number of patients to transfer, we will need several days’ notice in order to get them sent. Please do not delay!

We will be closed Saturday July 1st -Tuesday July 4th. We will reopen at 9am July 5th. Have a safe weekend everyone!
