How sketchy is this?

Kraftwork K9 Pro already charges $6,500 for their puppies, which I personally think is wildly overpriced, but now theyโ€™re charging $8,500 for this one because sheโ€™s supposedly an โ€œextremely rare miniature German Shepherd.โ€

There is no such thing as a โ€œminiature German Shepherdโ€. So either sheโ€™s simply the runt/small puppy in the litter, or if she truly is going to stay dramatically undersized, Iโ€™d be seriously questioning dwarfism or another growth disorder.

And if it actually were dwarfism, that is not just a harmless size difference. In German Shepherds it can be associated with major lifelong health problems, including hormone deficiencies, abnormal coat and skin, delayed development, organ issues, and a shortened lifespan.

That is something you investigate medically, not something you slap a โ€œrareโ€ label on and charge an extra $2,000 for.

Introducing King Dorian ๐Ÿ‘‘

Three weeks ago I began researching Maine C***s. *Just looking* and learning what to look for in a good breeder. And then of course I had to just look and see if there were any good breeders near me.

Honestly getting a cat never crossed my mind while I still had all these dogs, and it was a risk considering my dogs have never been around one. But I figured if any cat would get along with them, it would be a Maine C**n. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Weโ€™ve had him only a couple days, and heโ€™s doing fantastic. So calm and sweet and playful! Fantastic with the kids and stays calm around the dogs. Of course weโ€™re still taking intros very slow and only have one dog around him at a time.

And yes, heโ€™s named Dorian from Throne of Glass. ๐Ÿ˜š Heโ€™s 4.5 months old and 8 lbs, so he will be at least double this size! He already seems like a full grown cat, so itโ€™s difficult for me to imagine how big heโ€™ll be lol

Do you think allowing your dog to be morbidly obese is animal abuse?

I do. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Obviously there are health conditions and medications that can make weight gain harder to control, but thatโ€™s not the case for the majority of obese dogs. Most of the time, itโ€™s an owner who doesnโ€™t want to admit their dog is fat.

YOU control what your dog eats. They donโ€™t buy their own food. They donโ€™t fill their own bowl. They depend on you to keep them healthy.

And bigger does NOT mean better. Your dog is *not* solid muscle. Extra weight is hard on their joints, heart, mobility, and overall health.

Feeding them less might feel mean. Saying no to the sad eyes might feel mean. But letting them spend their life carrying around a bunch of unnecessary weight because you think they look โ€œhappierโ€ that way is a whole lot meaner.

Yes, I know our fence is in poor shape. When we first moved in, we got a quote to get it fixed. They said they canโ€™t patch it up. Theyโ€™d have to redo it completely, and it was like a $15k quote. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Looks like we might have to consider now though!
