🐾❤️ From Stray to Spoiled: Slink’s Incredible Comeback Story! ❤️🐾

One year ago, a very special little guy named Slink came through the doors of Cornerstone Animal Hospital as a stray, and he was in pretty rough shape. 💔

Slink was extremely sick, suffering from hookworms, severe anemia, and a heart murmur. He had a long road to recovery ahead of him, but little did he know his life was about to change forever! 🐶❤️

Our office manager took ONE LOOK at that sweet face and fell head over heels in love! 😍 Needless to say, Slink wasn’t leaving without a forever home! 🏡🐾

Thanks to the amazing treatment plan, dedication, and TLC provided by Dr. Natalie, Dr. Turner, and the entire CAH crew, Slink made an incredible turnaround! 💪❤️

Fast-forward ONE YEAR… 🎉

Slink recently came back to visit us for his annual wellness exam and vaccinations, and you better believe the whole CAH crew was SO excited to see him! 🥹💕 Seeing him happy, healthy, and thriving is exactly why we love what we do!

🐾 Slink’s story is also a great reminder of why annual wellness visits are SO important!

Even when your furry family member seems perfectly healthy, yearly exams help us catch potential health concerns early, stay on top of preventive care, and keep vaccinations up to date.

❤️ Our goal isn’t just to help sick pets get better — it’s to KEEP healthy pets healthy! ❤️

📞 If your pet is due for their yearly checkup or vaccinations, give us a call and get them scheduled!

Because every pet deserves a happy, healthy life just like Slink! 🐾🥰

🐾 What Happens at Your Pet’s Yearly Wellness Visit? 🩺🐶🐱

Even when your pet seems perfectly healthy, their yearly wellness visit is an important part of keeping them feeling their best! Pets can’t always tell us when something feels different, so routine exams can help us catch changes early.

During a typical yearly wellness appointment, your veterinary team may:

🩺 Perform a nose-to-tail physical exam
We check the eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, skin and coat, heart, lungs, abdomen, joints, weight, and overall body condition.

💉 Review & update vaccines
We’ll discuss which vaccines are due based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and risk factors.

🪱 Check for parasites
This may include a f***l test for intestinal parasites and heartworm testing for dogs, along with reviewing flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

🦷 Check dental health
We look for tartar, gingivitis, broken teeth, infection, and other changes that may mean it’s time to discuss dental care.

⚖️ Monitor weight & nutrition
Small changes in weight can sometimes be an early clue that something is changing. We can also discuss diet, treats, and feeding amounts.

❤️ Talk about behavior & lifestyle
Changes in appetite, drinking, bathroom habits, activity level, mobility, or behavior can give us important information about your pet’s health.

🧪 Discuss wellness lab work
Depending on your pet’s age and health history, your veterinarian may recommend bloodwork and/or a urinalysis to help establish healthy baseline values and look for changes that may not be visible during an exam.

🐾 And most importantly — answer your questions!

A wellness appointment isn’t just about vaccines. It’s our chance to look at the whole pet and help keep them healthy through every stage of life. ❤️

💙 So Proud of Our CAH Crew 💙

This weekend reminded us just how special our team truly is.

At CAH, we don’t normally offer weekend hospitalization. But when we had some very sick patients who needed continued care, our incredible crew didn’t hesitate. Team members volunteered to give up their weekend and work rotations, making sure these pets received the medications, monitoring, comfort, and love they needed.

No one had to ask them to care more. They simply stepped up because that’s who they are. ❤️

Working in veterinary medicine is so much more than a job. It means loving animals that aren’t your own, worrying about them after you leave the clinic, celebrating their improvements, and sometimes giving up your personal time because a patient still needs you.

To our CAH crew: THANK YOU. Thank you for your dedication, your compassion, your teamwork, and for always putting our patients first. We are incredibly proud of the heart you bring to this clinic every single day.

And to the families who trusted us with their very sick furry family members this weekend—thank you for allowing us to care for them. 🐾❤️

Sometimes the biggest difference is made by people who simply say, “I’ll be there.”

And this weekend, our CAH crew did exactly that. 💙🐾
