Wedington Animal Hospital was established as North College Animal Hospital in February of 1993. It was just Dr. Herring and one other staff member for the first couple of months. In July of 2002 the clinic was moved to its current location at 4363 W Wedington Drive. Within a year they began looking for more associates. Currently the clinic is home to 8 full time Veterinarians, and approximately 48 additional staff members all dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pets.

Happy National Rescue Dog Day!! 🐶

Today, we’re celebrating the dogs who get a second chance & the people willing to give it to them 💛

Rescue dogs may come with a past, but they also come with endless love, personality, resilience, & the ability to completely change your life. Every adoption opens a space for another animal in need, too 🐕🤍

Speaking of rescue dogs… sweet Nena is STILL searching for her forever home 🥺🤞🏽

Nena is around 18 months old, about 50 lbs, spayed, vaccinated, FULL of personality, & absolutely adores people. She loves to play ball, soak up attention, & keep you entertained every single day 🤩🎾

She would do best as the only pet in the home, though selective introductions could potentially work with the right fit. Because of her excitement level, we’d recommend an older kids/adults home with a nice yard where she can continue learning manners, getting her silly energy out, & thriving 💛

This girl has been waiting so patiently for someone to choose her. National Rescue Dog Day feels like the perfect time to remind everyone that her future family could be out there right now 🐾🤍

We’ve already seen a huge influx of Cytaux (Bobcat Fever) cases at our clinic this season, & know it’s very prevalent here in Arkansas, so we definitely want to spread awareness to keep everyone informed as the warmer months come in 😵‍💫

This is a tick-borne disease we unfortunately see a lot in our area, but it’s hitting earlier & harder than usual this year. It’s also one of the scarier ones because it moves fast; a lot of times, by the time symptoms show, they’re already really sick ❤️‍🩹🤒

Tick prevention is not something to skip right now. Even cats that “don’t go far” are still at risk. Please make sure your cat is protected & take a second to look over the symptoms on this graphic. 📋

If your cat is suddenly acting “off” at all, (lethargic, not eating, feverish, jaundiced, breathing differently), call us ASAP. Don’t wait it out. ☎️

We would always rather you call & it be nothing than wait & it be too late. 🫶🏽

Hey friends!! Sweet Nena is still in search for her forever home! 💜🦭

Nena absolutely loves people. She thrives on attention, loves being close to her humans, and has a big personality + an even bigger heart. 🤩

She’s playful, energetic, & always excited to meet new friends… sometimes a little too excited 🤪 Because of that, she’s still working on her manners & would do great with continued training to help channel all that ✨ enthusiasm ✨ She also loves to play ball!!! 🎾

Home preferences:
• Best as an only pet (she likes to be the star of the show 😇)
• Could potentially work with an experienced owner committed to training
• No cats recommended
• Older kids or adults would be ideal since she’s a bouncy girl 🤪

Nena came to us through circumstances beyond her control, but despite everything, she remains one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you’ll ever meet 🥹💓

All she wants is stability, patience, & a family to call her own. 💕🙏🏽

Nena is approximately 2 years old, about 45 pounds, spayed, fully up to date on her vaccines, & ready to join her people!!

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will love you endlessly, Nena could be your girl!!! 🫵🏽
