Wedington Animal Hospital was established as North College Animal Hospital in February of 1993. It was just Dr. Herring and one other staff member for the first couple of months. In July of 2002 the clinic was moved to its current location at 4363 W Wedington Drive. Within a year they began looking for more associates. Currently the clinic is home to 8 full time Veterinarians, and approximately 48 additional staff members all dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pets.

We’re smack dab in the middle of the Dog Days of Summer & boy does it feel like it 😵‍💫🌡️☀️

DID YOU KNOW?

The term comes from the ancient belief that Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, rose alongside the sun during the hottest part of the year. Sirius is also known as the “Dog Star,” which is how these scorching summer days earned their name! 🐕🌞🌡️

Traditionally lasting from July 3rd through August 11th, the Romans called this period 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘴, meaning “days of the Dog Star.” Over time, it was shortened to the “dog days.” So, take a lesson from this pup: find a cool spot, grab a refreshing drink, & enjoy the lazy days of summer! 🍹☀️

We’re happy to share that our electricity was restored yesterday evening and we’ll be open today!🐾

Electricity Update:
We are currently in the process of getting our electric issue fixed, but it is going to take several hours. We do not plan on being able to open today, but are hopeful we will be back in working order by tomorrow!

If your patient is here being hospitalized and/or are here for boarding, they are being well taken care of!

Our team has been able to communicate with some clients via our texting service but our reception team will only be in clinic for about another hour.

If you would like to pick-up your patient, please head to the clinic now or text us to make arrangements!
