Friends of Cumberland County AnimalS The mission of the FOCCAS is to work in conjunction with CCAC to promote animal welfare initiatives. This is an open intake, county shelter.

This page is managed and maintained by volunteers supporting the Cumberland County Animal Shelter, the animals under the shelter's care and the community the shelter serves. IT IS NOT ADMINISTERED, MANAGED OR AFFILIATED WITH CUMBERLAND COUNTY GOVERNMENT OR THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER. Animals WILL BE EUTHANIZED for space when the shelter is full, as it is every week. DO NOT wait if you ar

e interested in any animal listed. Page Policies:

- Rude comments, personal attacks on shelter staff, volunteers, county officials, page admins, former owners or anyone else WILL NOT be tolerated. Admins will ban people who do not follow this policy.

- Comments found to be threatening, hurtful or offensive in nature will be removed and the commenter may be banned.

- We give you permission to share our animals and pictures - PLEASE DO! However, please leave contact information attached to the picture so that, four shares later, someone wanting to help or adopt one of our animals has the correct information.

- We cannot place a hold on animals through this page. YOU MUST CONTACT THE SHELTER DIRECTLY at 910-321-6852.

- Animals should not be considered safe until word comes from this page that the animal has left the shelter.

- All animals have only a 72 hour required hold and with the volume entering the shelter each animal should be considered extremely urgent.

- Speak kindly... there are puppies present.

*a super good girl who just wants love

Meet Evanescence! She's a beautiful, happy girl who loves people so much her tail never stops wagging! In fact she currently has a "boo boo" on the tip of her tail known as "happy tail" which was caused from her tail wagging and hitting the kennel walls. Not to worry though, it is wrapped in a bandage and is on the mend.
What Evanescence needs now is for you to show her the love that she craves and give her a home. She's happy, friendly, loving, playful, and absolutely loves everyone she meets. Surely someone needs this good girl in their life. She will give you a lifetime of love and devotion. Come on in to meet her!

Oreo is a sweet, happy girl who is looking forward to getting lot's of love from a new family! She was happy to go out to the play yard to sniff, explore, and hang out with us volunteers. She enjoyed endless back rubs and plenty of yummy treats. She is an all around great dog who has good manners and wants to please. Oreo would love to have a yard to play in and a family to love. Petunia is a beautiful, sweet girl. She is very laid back and calm in and out of her kennel. She sits right up at the front hoping for visitors. She had a good time exploring the yard, stretching her legs, and getting fresh air. She enjoyed spending time with us and soaked up all the love, pets, and attention we gave. Petunia is waiting and hoping for a family to love and spend her life with. Our shelter is full, come meet her!

Harlie is an adorable, sweet girl! She's truly a social butterfly and has yet to meet a stranger. She isn't shy one bit and wants to be everyone's friend. In fact, she loves attention. She's especially fond of belly rubs and rolls over for them. Harlie explored the yard and was curious about everything. She had a good time sniffing, and checking things out. Harlie is a happy dog who will surely bring plenty of love, laughter, and joy into your life.
