We had a super time at Urban Equine Events Fall Finale this past week! All of the horses were great despite very cool temperatures and we got lucky to avoid most of the rain and get (nearly) a full week of showing in!

Grant enjoyed his time with his horse show buddy, Colton, and we even got to take a trip to the Omaha Zoo!

Highlights of the week:
🏆 TMT Romeo winner of the 1.0m Bonus Stake on Saturday and top 3 placings in all his other classes except where I had a mom brain fart 💨 and went off course! 😬
🥇 Swipe The Card made his debut in the jumper ring, winning the .85m speed class Friday and placing 3rd in the .85m jump off on Saturday. This horse can truly do it all!
👑 Daytime Drama made her rated show debut in the 2'0" USHJA & 2'3" Schooling hunters, earning top 5 placings in every class!

Super proud of the whole crew and thank you to my owners for trusting me with your horses. 🙏🏼

Next up - Harvest Time in Memphis November 4th-8th!

Heartland Equestrian is sending all the good vibes to Nora Necessary and Glenridge Partner in Crime today as they compete in the Medium Green Division at 2026 USEF Pony Finals!

Goldie came to us 2 years ago having just been lightly started under saddle. We are proud to have produced him from his first cross rails, to his first horse shows, to multiple top 5 placings at the World Equestrian Center two years in a row, and now - under the guidance of Roger's Equestrian Center - he has made it all the way to Pony Finals! Congratulations to horse and rider - we hope you have a blast!

Do you have a horse or pony ready to learn the ropes of the show ring? We have openings for young horse training this fall - reach out to learn more!

We had a super clinic with Will Baker Coast to Coast Equestrian last weekend!

Thank you Will for joining us in Arkansas for the third year in a row and thank you to lauren tumbleson for the amazing photos!

Next stop, our Heartland + UDJC Show in Little Rock this weekend and then my first vacation in 6 (maybe 7?) years before we pick up with our fall horse shows!

Heartland Equestrian is Hiring!

We’re looking to fill a unique and very important role for a motivated Working Student / Groom / Nanny to join our boutique hunter/jumper training, breeding, and sales program in Northwest Arkansas.

This is a paid position (approximately 30 hours/week) with compensation based on experience.

What you’ll do:
- Grooming, feeding, turnout, tacking, bathing, lunging, wrapping, and general horse care (no stall cleaning except when at shows)
- Assisting at horse shows
- Helping care for our young son during portions of the workday
- Supporting a small, team-oriented program where everyone pitches in

Perks include:
🐴 Complimentary board and full training for one personal horse
🏆 Riding and showing opportunities for the right candidate
✈️ Travel with our team to regional horse shows and Ocala, FL each winter (housing and travel expenses provided while away)
📈 Opportunities for growth within the program

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, enjoys both horses and children, and is excited to be part of a close-knit team. Horse show experience is a plus, but attitude and work ethic are even more important.

We’re hoping to find someone interested in making at least a six-month commitment beginning in mid August. The role will only include nannying through April and then someone can stay on for up to a year or more for the right person!

If you think you’d be a great fit, send us a message with your experience and tell us a little about yourself!

I am over the moon to announce a confirmed heartbeat for our mare Bella (Balou's Bellini x Coleman) to the incredible stallion, Zirocco Blue, for an April 2027 foal!

Bella is an amazing mare who competed to the 1.45m Grand Prix level, and retired sound to broodmare duties two years ago. She has 5 offspring on the ground (3 through ET), all of whom are very modern and correct with stellar jumps. She produces more of an eq/derby type that can also be competitive in the upper level jumpers for someone who wants scope without too much blood.

Zirocco Blue is a top level show jumper, known for his powerful jumping style, scope, and success in top-level competitions like the Olympics and European Championships at Aachen, as well as multiple top 10 finishes in the World Cup. He is also renowned sire, producing numerous successful offspring that compete at the highest levels.

I expect this foal to be modern and attractive, loaded with scope, and have an excellent temperament.
It should be equally suited for the equitation and derby rings while possessing the talent for upper-level jumpers (high amateur or FEI).

Available in utero for a short time.

As many of your know, I have long had a soft spot for Thoroughbreds and believe they deserve a place at the top of sport (again) as much as any other breed. They are exceptional athletes and partners, and some of the most rewarding horses you'll ever have the opportunity to ride.

The excitement around the Thoroughbred Derby at Upperville and the resurgent momentum Thoroughbreds are enjoying right now has me more inspired than ever. I don't think there has been a better time to celebrate these remarkable horses.

With that in mind, I am excited to announce TWO new Thoroughbred incentives for the remainder of the 2026 Heartland Horse Shows UDJC season!

🏆 Thoroughbred Ambassador Award:
A judge's choice award, presented at every show to a registered Thoroughbred that exemplifies horsemanship, sportsmanship, turnout, partnership, and overall excellence throughout the day.

🏆 Heartland Thoroughbred of the Year:
A season-long championship recognizing the Thoroughbred that accumulates the most points throughout the remainder of the UDJC series.

Whether you're showing a recently retired OTTB, a seasoned campaigner, or a Thoroughbred who has never seen a racetrack, I want to celebrate the versatility, heart, and talent that make this breed so special!

So, who's bringing a Thoroughbred to the next show? 👇
