FALL AT HEARTLAND EQUESTRIAN

Professional training and instruction in hunters, jumpers, and dressage for adult amateurs and college students — from riders getting back in the saddle to experienced competitors. Whether you want to just have fun or compete at the highest levels, we have something for everyone!

Select junior riders with competitive goals are also accepted into our program on a case-by-case basis.

BOARDING & TRAINING

We have a few stalls opening for training clients, sales horses, or tune-ups. Partial or full training options available.

I have competed through 1.30m in the jumpers and 3'3" performance/national derby in hunters, with a particular focus on young horse development. I am also a 200 hour YTT certified yoga teacher with a specialized education in horse and rider biomechanics. I have developed riders from their very first lessons through the 1.25m level.

Heartland Equestrian is sending all the good vibes to Nora Necessary and Glenridge Partner in Crime today as they compete in the Medium Green Division at 2026 USEF Pony Finals!

Goldie came to us 2 years ago having just been lightly started under saddle. We are proud to have produced him from his first cross rails, to his first horse shows, to multiple top 5 placings at the World Equestrian Center two years in a row, and now - under the guidance of Roger's Equestrian Center - he has made it all the way to Pony Finals! Congratulations to horse and rider - we hope you have a blast!

We had a super clinic with Will Baker Coast to Coast Equestrian last weekend!

Heartland Equestrian is Hiring!

We’re looking to fill a unique and very important role for a motivated Working Student / Groom / Nanny to join our boutique hunter/jumper training, breeding, and sales program in Northwest Arkansas.

This is a paid position (approximately 30 hours/week) with compensation based on experience.

What you’ll do:
- Grooming, feeding, turnout, tacking, bathing, lunging, wrapping, and general horse care (no stall cleaning except when at shows)
- Assisting at horse shows
- Helping care for our young son during portions of the workday
- Supporting a small, team-oriented program where everyone pitches in

✈️ Travel with our team to regional horse shows and Ocala, FL each winter (housing and travel expenses provided while away)
📈 Opportunities for growth within the program

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, enjoys both horses and children, and is excited to be part of a close-knit team. Horse show experience is a plus, but attitude and work ethic are even more important.

We’re hoping to find someone interested in making at least a six-month commitment beginning in mid August. The role will only include nannying through April and then someone can stay on for up to a year or more for the right person!

I am over the moon to announce a confirmed heartbeat for our mare Bella (Balou's Bellini x Coleman) to the incredible stallion, Zirocco Blue, for an April 2027 foal!

Bella is an amazing mare who competed to the 1.45m Grand Prix level, and retired sound to broodmare duties two years ago. She has 5 offspring on the ground (3 through ET), all of whom are very modern and correct with stellar jumps. She produces more of an eq/derby type that can also be competitive in the upper level jumpers for someone who wants scope without too much blood.

Zirocco Blue is a top level show jumper, known for his powerful jumping style, scope, and success in top-level competitions like the Olympics and European Championships at Aachen, as well as multiple top 10 finishes in the World Cup. He is also renowned sire, producing numerous successful offspring that compete at the highest levels.

I expect this foal to be modern and attractive, loaded with scope, and have an excellent temperament.
It should be equally suited for the equitation and derby rings while possessing the talent for upper-level jumpers (high amateur or FEI).

As many of your know, I have long had a soft spot for Thoroughbreds and believe they deserve a place at the top of sport (again) as much as any other breed. They are exceptional athletes and partners, and some of the most rewarding horses you'll ever have the opportunity to ride.

The excitement around the Thoroughbred Derby at Upperville and the resurgent momentum Thoroughbreds are enjoying right now has me more inspired than ever. I don't think there has been a better time to celebrate these remarkable horses.

With that in mind, I am excited to announce TWO new Thoroughbred incentives for the remainder of the 2026 Heartland Horse Shows UDJC season!

I am are thrilled to announce that Sophisticated HF is in foal to the stunning young hunter stallion (Popeye K x Mattgold) for a 2027 arrival!

Sophie enjoyed a successful career in the hunter ring (fun fact - I developed and competed her myself!) before retiring to motherhood, where she has become one of the most consistent and valued producers in our program. Her offspring are known for their exceptional beauty and their "born broke" mentality. She consistently produces foals that are extremely attractive, sensible, and a joy to work with.

Combined with Poseidon's good looks (and chrome!), hack-winning movement, and modern type, I expect this cross to produce an outstanding prospect for the hunter ring, with all the ingredients to excel in the derby arena.

For the first time ever, I am offering an in utero purchase option from Sophie. I have retained all of her offspring so far so this is a rare opportunity!
