As many of your know, I have long had a soft spot for Thoroughbreds and believe they deserve a place at the top of sport (again) as much as any other breed. They are exceptional athletes and partners, and some of the most rewarding horses you'll ever have the opportunity to ride.

The excitement around the Thoroughbred Derby at Upperville and the resurgent momentum Thoroughbreds are enjoying right now has me more inspired than ever. I don't think there has been a better time to celebrate these remarkable horses.

With that in mind, I am excited to announce TWO new Thoroughbred incentives for the remainder of the 2026 Heartland Horse Shows UDJC season!

🏆 Thoroughbred Ambassador Award:
A judge's choice award, presented at every show to a registered Thoroughbred that exemplifies horsemanship, sportsmanship, turnout, partnership, and overall excellence throughout the day.

🏆 Heartland Thoroughbred of the Year:
A season-long championship recognizing the Thoroughbred that accumulates the most points throughout the remainder of the UDJC series.

Whether you're showing a recently retired OTTB, a seasoned campaigner, or a Thoroughbred who has never seen a racetrack, I want to celebrate the versatility, heart, and talent that make this breed so special!

I am super excited about all of these offerings and am motivated to find everyone their home! Whether you are shopping for quality young stock, extremely exciting in utero opportunities, or riding horses I have them.

I also have 1-2 other quality young horses I may consider letting go of for the right person so reach out if you have something specific you are looking for and will be adding a few mares in foal, young horses, and riding horses in the next few weeks as well.

I am are thrilled to announce that Sophisticated HF is in foal to the stunning young hunter stallion (Popeye K x Mattgold) for a 2027 arrival!

Sophie enjoyed a successful career in the hunter ring (fun fact - I developed and competed her myself!) before retiring to motherhood, where she has become one of the most consistent and valued producers in our program. Her offspring are known for their exceptional beauty and their "born broke" mentality. She consistently produces foals that are extremely attractive, sensible, and a joy to work with.

Combined with Poseidon's good looks (and chrome!), hack-winning movement, and modern type, I expect this cross to produce an outstanding prospect for the hunter ring, with all the ingredients to excel in the derby arena.

For the first time ever, I am offering an in utero purchase option from Sophie. I have retained all of her offspring so far so this is a rare opportunity!

Join us for two fun-filled days featuring an educational clinic, schooling opportunities, and a relaxed but competitive horse show atmosphere!

• Expert clinic with Kathy Davidson — UDJC hunter, jumper & dressage judge and USEF “R” hunter/equitation judge
• Open dressage schooling
• Hunter derby field schooling

My amazing working student landed an internship this summer and I couldn’t be more proud of her! 🎉 (Go !) That said, it means I need someone to step in for June and July, with the possibility of continuing into the fall if it’s a good fit.

I’m looking for someone 16+ with reliable transportation who can work Tuesday through Friday, 9-1. You should be comfortable catching, leading, grooming, bathing, tacking and untacking on your own — we can take it from there.

This is a working student position, so the pay is in education. You’ll get riding lessons (on my horses or yours depending on your experience) and the chance to learn from someone who has spent 20+ years grooming and training at the top levels of the hunter/jumper and dressage world.

You’ll also be around for appointments with our farrier, vet, chiropractor and bodywork team, get to come to horse shows and help us run them, and since we also breed, there’s a good chance you’ll get some foal and young horse time too.

If you’re serious about learning this industry from the ground up, this is a great opportunity.

Starting the first week of June.
Located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Loving these arena upgrades! We added new sub-base, expanded the edge of the arena, and completely re-did the sand! Thanks as always to the amazing crew at for all of your hard work keeping our farm looking and functioning beautifully!

What an incredible weekend in Missouri at the Young Horse Show Series Regional Qualifier! We brought three of our young horses and couldn’t be prouder of how they represented our program. 🐴✨

Verlinde HF “Stella” (Viscount/Emilion/Jus de Pomme) turned heads in her yearling class, earning 4th place against serious competition. The judge praised her elastic gaits and strong topline, and she showed a natural ability and willingness her very first time through the jump chute. She’s qualified for the National Finals this fall!

Marzipan de Brecey HF “Marvin” (Ut Majeur de Brecey/Colonel John xx) cracked the top 8 in an incredibly deep 2-year-old in hand class — and as usual, had everyone stopping to admire his stunning type and commanding presence. He was brilliant in Friday’s jump chute schooling but was unfortunately a bit tired by Saturday's judged jump class and jumped a bit lackluster. Not to fret - every outing at this age is about building experience not winning ribbons. He did qualify for Nationals in the In Hand class! 👏🏼

Bellini HF “Ellie” (Bliss MF/Colonel John xx) had a fantastic weekend — she mastered the jump chute and showed with real confidence all weekend long, carrying herself like a seasoned competitor. She's the easiest, kindest girl and it is such a joy to work with her. Even mid-growth spurt, the judge still had plenty of nice things to say about her. We are so excited for what’s ahead for this girl!

Next up: Ellie enjoys a well-earned summer off before her hunter breeding debut this fall, Marvin starts some 2-year-old school, and Stella will be sharpening her manners all summer long.
