These cuties are now at Petsense by Tractor Supply on MLK in SW Fayetteville AR, between Goodwill and Lowes.

Petsense is closing THIS MONTH. Our last day is September 28th. This is it. These are our last Petsense kitties ❤️ Let's find them amazing homes!

Hopper is EVERYONE'S friend, cats, dogs, people, he loves everyone. He is solid white with 2 tiny Grey dots on his head. He is a total hoot, and a lovebug!

The other kitties will need a little time and patience to show their amazing personalities.

Layla, Liam, and Luca were all sheltered by a lovely couple in Van Buren, while Layla had and raised her handsome boys.

Layla is sweet, but understandably stressed, and a little defensive. After a few days here at the rescue to decompress, she was enjoying pets and showing her personality.

Liam (lighter tabby) and Luca (gorgeous black tabby) are such good boys. Both love petting and climbed from their transport kennel straight into Eren's lap. They are just scared, and need time and love to feel safe.

Fiddle & Faddle are two sweet and very scared boys that came through the Friends of Prairie Grove Pound program. They act spooky/defensive, but once in your lap, they are happy purr kitties. Again, they just need time and love to really shine.

Let's get these fur babies into their forever homes.

Our standard adoption fee is $85.

Our cats come-
Spayed/neutered
FVRCP vaccine (adults 1-2, kittens 2-3)
Rabies vaccine
Dewormed (multiple times)
Flea and tick treated (if needed)
SNAP tested for FIV and FELV
Microchipped

Do you know how much that all costs from a regular pet Veterinarian? It is well over $500, probably closer to $800-$1000. Veterinarians HAVE to charge that much to cover expenses. We are just grateful to have lower cost options.

We can *usually* do it for $100ish, unless they get sick (all kittens get sick, ALL). We can ONLY do that because of high volume/low cost clinics like the NWA Community Cat Project

We aren't making money on adoption fees. Without donations, we couldn't keep rescuing.

The harsh reality is, that if you cannot afford an adoption fee, you probably cannot afford vet bills for when your pet needs care.

We have to do what is best for the pet, but we do our best to help the people too

Why does it seem like so many people are looking for kittens that are simply “free” or “someone needs to get rid of them”, but not necessarily looking for 𝙑𝙀𝙏𝙏𝙀𝘿 kittens⁉️

Do you really want to bring home a kitten who hasn't been vaccinated against common illnesses? Do you want to risk bringing contagious diseases into your home that could spread to the other pets you already love? Of course not!

Are you able to take on the cost of vaccines, veterinary care, and spay/neuter yourself and potentially wait weeks or months for an appointment???

Kittens can go into heat and become 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴 4 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘰𝘭𝘥. 😱😱 A young cat can slip out the door during mating season, driven by instincts they don't understand, and suddenly you have an unplanned pregnancy on your hands.

❌ Then may find yourself posting “free kittens” too. ❌
And just like that, the cycle continues. 💔

How can you 🄲🄷🄰🄽🄶🄴 that vicious cycle?? 👇🏽👇🏽

✅ Adopt from a reputable shelter or rescue whenever possible. ✅ Choose a kitten who has received appropriate veterinary care. ✅ Ask questions.
✅ Make sure they are vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, and have at least have a plan for spay/neuter.

And if you're getting a kitten from someone giving them away, 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗟𝗘𝗧 "𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘" 𝗕𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦.
Because that kitten isn't really free if they come with preventable illness, unexpected veterinary expenses, an unplanned litter, or a lifetime of consequences.

🛑 STOP THE CYCLE.



Being a good pet owner starts 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦.

We made ALL of these mistakes when we started doing TNR. Now we help others learn to trap properly, and we have a trap loan program.

One morning, I woke up feeling a little under the weather. I tried to get some food on my stomach so I could take some medicine, but that didn't happen. So I laid in bed with a pounding headache as the nausea continued to get worse. You can probably guess the rest… 🤢

I had finally drifted off to sleep when my phone woke me up. The call was soon followed by a text from someone I had never spoken with before:

“I have a feral cat trapped that I would like to have spayed and returned.”

Oh boy. 😳

My first thought was, what if I didn't have anyone who could help this lady? What would she have done with the cat?

Thankfully, I found a volunteer to step in. They helped get the cat to me so I could get her to the Clinic once I was feeling better.

There were a few important lessons in this situation that I really want people to understand.‼️

Because taking in an unexpected cat also means that someone else who has been waiting for a spot may now have to wait even longer. 😔

I completely understand that not everyone knows how TNR works. That's exactly why education is so important.

1️⃣ 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽. Never trap an unsocialized cat without knowing exactly what you're going to do with that cat afterward. Please don't assume someone will be available to help you. TNR trappers are volunteers. They have trapping commitments, jobs, families, pets, and personal responsibilities just like everyone else. The fact that someone has helped you before doesn't mean they will always be available when you need them.

2️⃣ Don't move forward with trapping an unsocialized cat unless you have experience or are being guided by someone who does. Yes, we absolutely believe 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘕𝘙! But you need the proper supplies, preparation, and knowledge before you set that trap.

3️⃣ 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿. An unsocialized cat needs to remain in the trap for their veterinary appointment because they cannot safely be handled. The veterinary staff doesn't want to put their hands into a carrier with a terrified cat any more than you do! When the cat is in a trap, veterinary staff can use a tool called a trap divider to safely move the cat to one end of the trap and administer anesthesia through the trap. The entire process is safer and less stressful for everyone—including the cat. ❤️

This situation can be a great teaching moment for less experienced people. Hiccups and all, we are glad this beautiful girl, who has already had two litters, is now spayed and kitten free forever.

Vinnie loafed!! He loafed up like a regular, healthy cat!! He is doing incredibly well, and is off of pain meds as of today.

He did get a clean bed, AFTER getting up on his own. It is incredibly cool to see him becoming himself again

Currently available cats and kittens from Hope on the Hill. This post will be updated as often as possible. All of these cats & kittens are INDOOR ONLY.

Located at Petsense by Tractor Supply (Fayetteville, AR) (MLK in SW Fayetteville AR, between Goodwill and Lowes)-

Jock and Olivia, bonded pair-
These two sweeties are true BFF's and must be adopted together. Jock is a 6 month old male black kitten with a few small white spots. He loves people, other cats, and friendly dogs.
Olivia is a 2ish year old Tuxedo female. She is sweet, but VERY shy. She needs Jock to help her be brave. They are both very playful.

Not at Petsense, but currently available-

Ceres-sweet and beautiful Ceres is a 1 year old chunky tabby girl. She was completely feral at intake as a teenage kitten. She has lived with Eren in her tiny house since she was a kitten. She loves Eren and (with Eren) is super cuddly, chatty and snuggly. She tolerates petting from Zac and I (Laura). She will take MONTHS to warm up to her new people, and must be allowed that time to decompress and feel safe. She will do best in a smaller environment (tiny house, bedroom, camper/RV) with a sweet cat sibling. She also loves friendly dogs. Once she feels safe, she is a wonderful and incredibly sweet cat.

4 vetted kittens coming in from a local independent (and amazing) local rescuer. No other details yet, but they are VERY sweet and are used to kids and dogs.

Vinnie-Sweet, sweet Vinnie has been through it all. Abandoned by his people after suffering a tremendous trauma, he healed a severe high Femur break and tail tip degloving out as a stray :( He managed to heal and survive somehow, and wandered to a home for help...and they did! Vinnie has now had surgery to amputate his rear right leg, at the hip. The tail tip was also repaired. He will need several weeks to heal and start to regain weight. He is horribly thin. Even in pain, scared, and confused, Vinnie LOVES, and loves with his whole heart. Even barely able to stand, he will shove his face against yours for kisses and cuddles. He just purrs and purrs. He does try to wait to eat until we are with him. He feels safe with his people

Adoption information and fees.

If you are interested in adopting one of our cats or kittens you will be asked (at least) the following questions.-

Screening questions-
1. Who is your vet? May we call them for a reference?
2. Do you rent or own? If you rent, we must speak to your landlord or have proof that you have permission to have pets, and that all applicable fees have been paid.
3. How many other pets do you have and what are they? Are all of your other pets spayed or neutered?
4. How many people in your household and their ages (some pets are not child friendly).
5. Have you had to rehome any pets in the last few years? If so, who, what and when?
6. Do you agree that declawing is barbaric?
7. Do you agree that this cat will be a full-time indoor only cat, not allowed outside unless it is harnessed and leashed? (Not applicable for barn/shop cats).
8. Do you live with family or roommates?
9. Does everyone in your household agree that adopting a cat or kitten is a good idea?
10. Has anyone in your household ever injured a pet on purpose?
11. Has anyone in your household ever rehomed a pet without the knowledge and agreement of the other family members?
12. Do you agree to place the cat/kitten in a safe carrier (we have them to loan) and KEEP them in it, until they are safely inside of your home when adopting?
13. Do you travel for work or pleasure?
14. When you travel, how often is it and who cares for your pet(s) and how often do they check/feed/scoop the cats?
15. Have you ever had a cat declawed? If so, would you do it to a new cat?

We may have others that are not available yet, or may not be listed. Please contact us if you see a cat pictured that is not listed as available for adoption.

Cats and kittens from our program will be fully vetted, including- *Spay/Neuter *
*FVRCP vaccine (series of 3, 1-3 will have been administered)
*Rabies vaccine
*Dewormed (multiple times)
*SNAP testing for FIV & FELV
*Microchipped

Cats and kittens pulled from other rescues, shelters, and Community cats brought to us for rehoming will be spayed/neutered & current on vaccinations.

We are registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the State of Arkansas and the IRS.

Adoption fees are-
Vetted kittens and cats $85
Vetted barn/shop cats $50
Some rare breeds or colors may have a higher adoption fee.

Adoption fees are not negotiable.
Cats and kittens are not "purchased", they are ADOPTED.
We reserve the right to refuse or deny services to anyone.
There are no refunds if a cat or kitten is returned.
Cats and kittens adopted from HOTH may not be rehomed, placed outside (for ANY reason) or given away. If the animal needs to be rehomed, they MUST be returned to HOTH.
