☀️ Hot Pavement, Hot Paws! 🐾
As temperatures rise, don’t forget that pavement can become dangerously hot for your pet’s paws.
A simple test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws!
Signs of heat-related problems include:
🐶 Excessive panting
🐶 Drooling
🐶 Lethargy or weakness
🐶 Bright red gums
🐶 Vomiting or diarrhea
To keep your pet safe:
✅ Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours
✅ Bring plenty of fresh water
✅ Take frequent shade breaks
✅ Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle
✅ Consider protective booties for sensitive paws
Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If you suspect your pet is overheating, contact your veterinarian immediately.
