What surprised me most? The size of hatchlings.
Even after all these years, it still amazes me how something so tiny can hatch out perfectly formed and ready to take on the world.
Whether it's a crested gecko, ball python, or boa, that moment never really gets old. After weeks (or months) of waiting, checking eggs, and hoping everything goes right, it's incredible to see a healthy baby emerge. You realize your "babies" from the previous years aren't so small anymore π₯Ή
I've seen countless hatchlings over the years, but I still catch myself thinking, "I can't believe they start out this small."
What's something about reptiles that still surprises you, no matter how long you've been keeping them?
π I'd love to hear your answer.
