Miss Shiva, the newest member to Kat’s Kennels LLC!🐾
We wanted to share a video of her as an example of why a well socialized dog is a happier and healthier dog and why it’s important for us here at Kat’s Kennels LLC, that all of your pups are well socialized.🐾
Preparing Your Dog for a Successful Boarding Stay.🐾
Boarding at a dog-friendly kennel means your dog will be around new people, new dogs, and new situations. That’s why socialization and basic training are so important!🐾
Dog’s should be comfortable allowing people other than their owners to safely touch them, put on a leash, move them, and give them basic commands. They should also be able to calmly exist around other dogs, even if they don’t want to play with them.🐾
For dogs that are fearful, reactive, or aggressive, like Shiva, this preparation is especially important. Socialization doesn’t mean your dog has to love every person or every dog. It means teaching them how to safely handle these situations.🐾
Our priority is the safety and comfort of every dog, client, and staff member. If your dog has behavioral challenges, please be honest with your boarding provider. With the right training and preparation, many dogs can make tremendous progress!🐾
A little training today can make boarding, grooming, vet visits, and everyday life much easier tomorrow.🐾
