Farmington Animal Hospital

Farmington Animal Hospital We treat your pets like we treat our own. Farmington Animal Hospital, located in Farmington, Connecticut, is a complete service hospital.

We are equipped with surgery, digital radiology, dental, exam, pharmacy, diagnostic laboratory, and kennel facilities. The doctor uses a Surgitron during surgeries, which resembles a laser but uses ultra high frequency radio waves sent to an electrode tip for precise, clean cutting. This equipment is used in both our major and minor surgeries as it aids in rapid healing. Digital radiography gives

us quick images which we can readily share with you. Our dental Cavitron is put into regular use, keeping pet's teeth sparkling and strong.

🦟 Mosquitos are not only an annoying menace, but they can also transmit heartworm disease. These worms (up to a foot long) live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of infected pets and cause organ dmage as they grow and multiply.

πŸ“… One way to prevent this is with chewable preventions. Given once monthly, these medications create an environment that is unsustainable for these parasites to survive. But remembering to give these chews once every 4 weeks can be a difficult task‼️

That's why we are glad to offer ProHeart12- an injectable heartworm prevention that only needs to be given once a year! πŸ’‰
This one and done product allows for a year of safe outdoor fun πŸ‚ without worrying about preventions, and we'll send you a yearly reminder when it's time for a booster.

☎️ Give us a call if this is something you are interested in, or discuss it with your veterinarian at your next visit. Once your pet is 12 months old, it can be started anytime.
Enjoy your outdoor adventures with less worry!

Did you know?:

πŸ•· For years, the best way to prevent fleas and ticks was with oral preventions- Chewable medications given regularly that kill parasites before they can transmit disease.

But remembering to give something once every 4, 8, or even 12 weeks to your dog can be a difficult task. πŸ“…

πŸ’‰ That's why we are glad to announce we now carry Bravecto Quantum- an injectable flea and tick prevention that only needs to be given once a year- just like your pet's vaccines!

This one and done product allows you a whole year of safe outdoor fun. πŸ₯³ πŸŽ‰ You can forget about regular chewables and we will send you a yearly reminder when it's time for a booster.

☎️ Give us a call if this is something you're interested in, or we can always discuss it at your next regular appointment. Once your pet is 12 months old, we can start it at anytime!

Enjoy your outdoor adventures with less worry!

🐾 Turns out around here, "coworker's dog" just translates to "everyone's pup"! 🐢

We love all our patients like family but there's something extra special about caring for one of our own. ❀️ πŸ’™ πŸ’œ

πŸ₯³ We're so glad Nala is feeling better this weekend- and even happier knowing her mom, Vet Tech Asia, can finally stop worrying! πŸŽ‰

Wishing everyone a safe and healthy Memorial Day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² FAH will remain closed today, and reopen at 8am tomorrow.

🌞 While celebrating the unofficial start to summer, be sure to take a moment to remember our Armed Forces who have been lost over the years, including the animals that have joined them on the front lines!
🐾 From dogs to horses, dolphins to pigeons, mice to elephants, and almost everything in between, animals have a long history of assisting our military.

❀️ Memorial Day honors all our military members who have passed in the line of duty.

Enjoy your Memorial Day!
