Keeping them cool, healthy, and monitored helps them live happy, comfortable lives. 💕🐾

Pet MD, shows a fantastic scale for us pet parents to look through!🐾

As temperatures rise, dogs can overheat much more quickly than people. Since dogs primarily cool themselves through panting, they are especially vulnerable to heat-related illnesses during warm weather.☀️

A few warning signs to watch for will include:

* Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
* Excessive drooling
* Bright red or pale gums
* Weakness, lethargy, or stumbling

🐈‍⬛ Meet Our Adorable New Patient - Java!
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming this sweet little kitten for her very first vet visit here at Akin Hills Pet Hospital! With those big curious eyes and tiny meows, she handled her check-up like a champ - full exam, vaccinations, and a clean bill of health.

Tonight’s spot light is on our senior pets:

They may trade zoomies for naps and need a few extra treats to convince them off the couch, but their love is unmatched. Older pets have mastered the art of companionship: they’re loyal, cuddly, wise, and always ready to remind you that the best things in life come with a little sugar on the face and a lot of love in the heart.🐾
