Good morning everyone, Marie here. I wanted to post a quick note about our upcoming public event taking place on Saturday, October 24th.
You may have seen the flyer going around for Missy Liu’s Tricks, Treats & Tails, and I wanted to share a little more about what we’re hoping to create. ❤️
Last year, 55 dogs joined us for our costume dog parade in Prairie Grove. When people started asking if we were bringing it back this year, I knew I wanted to—but this time, I wanted to bring it home to Farmington, where Missy Liu’s is located.
And it’s growing into something pretty special. 🎃
🐕 Our costumed pups will once again get their parade.
👻 The kids will get in on the fun with their own costume contest.
📚 I’m hoping to have one of our local children’s authors join us for a special dog-themed storytime for the kids.
🐾 We’ll have a small group of local vendors joining us.
❤️ And most importantly, parade registration fees will be donated to Friends of the Prairie Grove Pound to help dogs in our neighboring community.
I would also love for this event to help our own Farmington community. We’ll be supporting Roscoe’s Pet Pantry, which helps local families who may need a little assistance keeping food in their pets’ bowls. More information on how you can help us support the pantry will be coming soon.
This isn’t about creating the biggest fall festival we can.
It’s about dogs. Kids. Families. Books. Neighbors helping neighbors. And one afternoon where our community can come together and have some fun. ❤️
Missy Liu’s may have started with one dog’s story, but I think this event is a pretty wonderful way to celebrate a whole lot more of them.
