Cadbury (b&w) & Peaches (caster) both made beautiful nests right away in their boxes. Graycie on the other hand… her face says it all. She ate most her hay, and she has no idea what she did wrong. 😂 I get the feeling she is Not pregnant. If she isn’t, this will be the 4th time she didn’t take. It may be time for retirement for this girl and new hay. 🩶

We are happy to welcome QuickSilver’s second litter with Stitch! 🥰 She has built the most beautiful nest with loads of fur. These 4 peanuts are so smart and strong already! As soon as I wrangled one, it would already have instinctively rolled back into the warmest deepest part of nest before I could even find the next kit! I have high hopes for these little babies. Everyone including mom is doing phenomenal! I’m so proud of her. 🐰 🤍🩶🤍🩶

These kits are SO chonky! 🤩 🐰 Peaches is acting like a seasoned pro this go around. All 5 are thriving. QuickSilver is a FIERCE mother. She is quick to defend her babies from me checking on them! Unfortunately we had an issue with the nesting box, and 2 babies didn’t make it when they wiggled out together. We were able to fix the issue, and the rest of the babies have been prevented from making it out. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 the other 3 don’t hop out over the barricade. However, with their eyes starting to open, this usually becomes less of a problem as they can find their way back into the nest box. 💞
This cold front swing the past couple days has kept me worried and on my toes, but I’m so grateful that both mommas have been doing their best to keep their babies warm and fed.

We have had a busy couple days! Peaches delivered her litter on Tuesday morning! She had six, but unfortunately one was very much undeveloped. We haven’t experienced that before in her litters. The last 2 litters she had given us 9, but struggled to keep all of them alive. So, we are hopeful that with the 5 remaining she can keep them all healthy and strong. I am excited to see what colors she has this litter. At first glance it looks as though she may have a couple of black otters in there! It’s been a little while since we’ve had any in our rabbitry. 🖤🤎🩶

I am super happy to post that Quicksilver had her litter Sunday mid morning! All 5 kits are doing well. She is a super attentive mother. Her babies are loud! I can hear them squeaking all the way across the yard in the morning when I cross to check on them. She is not cool with me checking in on them, but she is a little rough with our travel kennel as a nesting box. Just to be safe I continue to make sure that no babies are wiggling their way out. This litter is pedigreed, but is not purebred. Mom is 1/2 standard Rex 1/2 Flemish Giant. Dad is 100% standard Rex. I cannot wait to see how the kits’ coats come out looking. 🐰 👀 🩶🤍

Nest boxes are in! Peaches sure looks like her little tummy has popped rounder the last two days! Graycie may have a little litter? Our first time mom QuickSilver is who I am watching to see if she was able to get pregnant her first try.🩶 She is our 1/2 Rex 1/2 Flemish Giant doe who is helping us on our way to “bigger” and better things. 😉

These summer babies may have taken longer than normal to get to a good weight, but they are BEAUTIFUL. Breeding late in the season was a chance I was willing to take, and I’m very grateful it worked out. Peaches & Buster threw some beautiful shades of Chestnut, Castor, and looks like if I’m selective, I may be able to start a RED line. 🙌🏻 🎉
