The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at shelters or whose owners who can no longer care for them. We are looking for fosters, adopters and volunteers who can help transport dogs to their homes. Donations are needed to pay for medical care and other expenses and can be made via PayPal at [email protected].

🚨 TEMPORARY FOSTER SAVED HER LIFE. NOW SHE NEEDS THE NEXT STEP.

Looking for a foster home: Meet Janice. ❤️

A few days ago, an amazing person stepped up and said “yes” when Janice had nowhere to go.

That temporary foster gave her exactly what she needed in the moment: safety, a roof over her head, and a chance to avoid ending up as a statistic.

🥹 And because of that one person, Janice is safe today.

But temporary fosters are exactly that… temporary.

The plan was never for Janice to stay long-term, and now it’s time for her to move on to the next chapter: a foster home where she can truly settle in, decompress, and wait for her forever family to find her.

The good news? Janice has been an absolutely wonderful houseguest. 🥹

She’s silly, loving, easygoing, happy to be around her people, and has proven that she’s the kind of dog who just wants a soft place to land and someone to love. Just a really sweet dog who needed someone to give her a chance.

Her temporary foster did the first leg of her second chance journey—they saved her life.

Now Cane Rosso Rescue is hoping someone else can help carry the baton and give Janice a place to stay while we work our magic and find her forever home.

🚨 URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED 🚨

This is one of those shelter situations that absolutely punches you in the gut.

💔 A mama Pointer mix and her three puppies are sitting in neighboring kennels at the shelter right now.

💔 Mom is in one kennel.

💔 Her babies are in the kennel next door.

💔 They can hear each other.

💔 They can smell each other.

💔 They cry for each other.

Imagine being separated from your babies and not understanding why.

Every day this little family sits in the shelter is another day of stress, fear, and uncertainty. And every day they remain there, they continue taking up valuable kennel space in an already overcrowded shelter.

We want to save this family. We CAN save this family.

But we need our village to step up.

The good news? They do NOT need to stay together. In fact, separate foster homes are perfectly fine! We simply need safe places for each of them to land so we can get them out of the shelter. Here’s what YOU can do:

Can Cane Rosso Rescue find Ruby a home?

💔Her owner recently passed away, and sadly, there is no one in the family who can keep her. They’ve reached out, hoping someone will open their heart and home to this sweet girl before she ends up going to a shelter.

Losing your person is heartbreaking enough. Losing your home and going to a shelter? We can’t let that be Ruby’s story.

This is where our amazing community comes in. We know what kind of people you are. You’re the ones who step up when dogs need you most. You’re the ones who understand that sometimes all it takes is one share, one conversation, or one “yes” to completely change a dog’s future.

Available for Adoption: Duke 💙

💔Sometimes a dog comes along and we genuinely have no explanation for why he’s homeless…. Or why we cannot find anyone interested in him.

Duke is one of those dogs.

Duke is a good dog. A GREAT dog. An easy dog. The kind of dog people are constantly looking for. The kind of dog who just wants his people and to be loved.

Yet somehow, there he was, sitting in a shelter waiting for someone to notice him.

Thankfully, we did.

An amazing foster stepped up, said YES, and Duke became a Cane Rosso Rescue dog.

⭐️ And wow… what a dog he is!!

Duke settled into foster care like he’d been there forever. He’s easygoing, affectionate, well-mannered, and clearly has lived in a home before. He loves people, walks beautifully on leash, rides great in the car, knows some commands, and gets along with everyone.

His shelter notes said:

“Sooo sweet. Stood around wagging his tail the whole intake and walked up to people wanting to be petted. Walks great on leash.”

Yep. That tracks with what we’ve seen.

WHAT. IS. HAPPENING??? 🤯

We genuinely do not understand.

Molly is STILL available for adoption and at this point we’re starting to think people don’t actually want good dogs. 😭

Seriously. She’s dog-friendly. Cat-friendly. Sweet. Goody. Loves walks. Loves cuddles. Doesn’t chew your walls. Doesn’t wake you up at 3am with bad life choices. Just an all-around fantastic dog looking for her people.

Molly came to Cane Rosso Rescue shy and unsure of the world, but her foster family has poured so much time, patience, and love into helping her build confidence. And guess what? It worked. She’s ready.

Her dream home is simple:

🐾 Bonus points for a cat friend

🐾 Humans who enjoy walks because that is her absolute favorite thing in the world

🐾 A healthy supply of toys

Well. Our Monday had other plans. 🙃

One minute Niles was being his adorable scruffy self, and the next? Not eating, lethargic, crusty nose, and generally looking like he had absolutely zero interest in participating in puppyhood.

‼️ Because puppies love to keep us humble (and consistently mildly terrified), we got him to the vet ASAP.

The verdict? Pneumonia. 😩

Cue the chest x-rays, diagnostics, medications, antibiotics, and our Cane Rosso Rescue bank account quietly screaming in the corner.

⭐️ The good news: we caught it quickly, he has a treatment plan, and with a couple weeks of rest, meds, and being spoiled rotten, our little scruff should be feeling much better soon.

☹️The bad news: Pneumonia Monday comes with an approx $560 vet bill.

This adorable little girl wandered onto someone’s property, looking for help. No microchip. No owner. No one came looking for her.

Now safe with Cane Rosso Rescue, Indy has settled into foster care so effortlessly you’d think she’s been there forever. She’s sweet, adaptable, and has the kind of easygoing personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. She gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, kids, and pretty much anyone lucky enough to meet her.

At 4 months old, she’s crate trained, potty trained, and fitting seamlessly into her foster home’s routine. No drama. No fuss. Just a happy little puppy who wants to be loved.

💔Max almost became another heartbreaking shelter statistic.

He landed in a small shelter that was dangerously overcrowded, where dogs are losing their lives every day simply because there isn’t enough space. Through no fault of his own, Max was running out of time.

Then an incredible foster family stepped up and said the two most important words in rescue: “I’ll help.”

Now Max is safe, loved, and officially a Cane Rosso Rescue dog. ❤️

And honestly? He’s the kind of dog everyone hopes for.

Max is wonderful with his foster dog siblings, rides great in the car, is both house-trained and crate-trained, and has settled beautifully into home life. He’s affectionate, easygoing, and happiest curled up next to his people for a cuddle session.

If we’re being completely honest, Max is almost suspiciously easy. 😅

His dream home isn’t complicated—a comfy couch, a cozy bed, and humans to love. After everything he’s been through, we think that’s the very least he deserves.

Who is looking for an oh-so-sweet, loving, family friendly Chocolate lab?!! Well, you’re in luck because Cane Rosso Rescue has one!!

🩷Meet Grace! This adorable girl found herself in a small shelter and out of time. With euthanasia pending, we obviously weren’t letting that happen so we jumped in and, with the help of an awesome foster home, saved Grace.

She’s been nothing short of awesome in her foster home. Initially shy and taking her time to figure things out… as we all do… she’s totally opened up and blossomed into one amazing dog. She’s learning the ropes, LOVES cuddles and is just a general awesome dog!! She is now available for adoption!

🆘 Foster needed! Barber is in urgent need of a new home.

🥲Barber is only around 7 months old and lives his entire life tied up outside. He unfortunately was never trained by his owner and we suspect no one did any research on the breed before bringing him home.

He needs to learn love and a household and also some rules and structure. He needs someone to put a little effort into him and he’ll be an amazing companion.

As we all know……Pointers are active dogs who need a lot of exercise and stimulation... which he doesn’t receive at his current home. Every time he is loose, he tries to run away. Barber is not a bad dog.. he’s a bored and frustrated dog.

His current owner’s siblings are also frustrated seeing him tied and being the ones who give him food and water. Owner has agreed to surrender him. Cane Rosso Rescue will help him immediately with a foster home in place.
