🐾🎉 VET TECH WEEK 🎉🐾

This week, we've been celebrating our amazing veterinary technicians! ❤️

Every single one of them goes above and beyond for our patients and clients each and every day. They wear many hats, including nurse, laboratory technician, radiology technician, anesthetist, surgical technician, dental hygienist, phlebotomist, educator, caregiver, advocate, and so much more.

Their knowledge, compassion, dedication, and hard work make an incredible difference in the lives of our patients and the families who love them. Simply put, we could not do what we do without them.

Thank you to our veterinary technicians for everything you do. We hope you've felt the love and appreciation this week through all the breakfasts, lunches, snacks, gifts, and well-deserved recognition. You truly are the heart of our team! 🐾❤️

Last week, Dr. Dill had the honor of receiving a Challenge Coin from the ND State Highway Patrol. We are proud to have been a part of Fia's journey. We are grateful for the tremendous care that Sgt. Helgoe and his family gave Fia. Her memory will live on through the service she provided our community. 🤎💛🐾

🎉 IT'S VET TECH WEEK!!! 🎉

This week we're celebrating our technicians, and today, on Pharmacy Technician Day, we want to give a big shout out to our Pharmacy Tech, Kym! 💊🐾

Kym plays a huge role in keeping our patients healthy and our clinic running smoothly. From filling prescriptions and ensuring medications are prepared accurately and efficiently to being an expert patient distractor, she helps make every visit a little easier for our furry friends and helps ensure they receive the care they need.

Thank you, Kym, for your hard work, attention to detail, and dedication to our patients, clients, and team. We appreciate everything you do and are so lucky to have you as part of our clinic family! ❤️

🐾 Fear Free Friday! 🐾

Ever notice our team constantly handing out cheese, treats, or Churu during your pet's visit... without asking for a sit, stay, or shake first? 🧀🐶🐱

While training cues are wonderful, that's not our focus during a veterinary visit. Our goal is to make your pet's experience as safe, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. ❤️

🌟 Why do we give treats with no strings attached?

🍪 It reduces fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS).
When pets are feeling nervous or overwhelmed, asking them to perform a behavior can add extra mental pressure. Free treats removes expectations and help them relax and focus on the good stuff!

🐾 It creates positive associations.
We want your pet to see the scale, exam table, or even the stethoscope and think:
"Wow, this place is awesome!" 🤩
Not, "Uh-oh... what's happening next?"

💛 It promotes comfort and consent.
Offering treats freely helps pets feel like they have a choice in their experience and turns an unfamiliar visit into something predictable and safe.

🐶🐱 So next time you're here, don't worry if your pet isn't on their "best behavior." Our team is trained to work with pets in whatever position or pace makes them feel safest and most comfortable.

Tortoise Patience! 🐢

Tortoises can make wonderful pets, but they do take a little extra patience and expertise to warm up to you and truly come out of their shell! 😉

This little tortoise was feeling especially shy at their visit today. With some gentle coaxing (and a lot of patience), they came out and allowed a full exam and routine bloodwork for Dr. Krumm! 🌟 We're so proud of this brave little reptile!

Tortoises are truly amazing animals. Many species can live for decades, which makes regular wellness exams especially important. Like many exotic pets, they're very good at hiding illness, so routine checkups and bloodwork help us catch problems early and keep them healthy for the long haul. 💚

Have a tortoise or other reptile at home? Give us a call to schedule their wellness visit. We'll take all the time they need! 🐢
