A few ways to keep your pet safe this season:

Both dogs and cats experience REM sleep, the stage of sleep associated with dreaming. While we can’t know exactly what they dream about, researchers believe their dreams may be connected to experiences from their everyday lives.

🐾💙 National Animal Pain Awareness Month

Our pets can’t tell us when they’re hurting—but they can show us.

September is National Animal Pain Awareness Month, a great reminder to pay attention to changes in your pet’s behavior and daily routines.

Signs of pain may include:
🐾 Limping or difficulty getting up
🐾 Reluctance to jump, climb stairs, or play
🐾 Changes in appetite or sleep
🐾 Hiding or withdrawing
🐾 Excessive licking or chewing of an area
🐾 Whining, restlessness, or changes in behavior
🐾 Changes in posture or movement

Sometimes pain can be subtle and may look like your pet is simply “slowing down” with age. Changes in mobility, activity, or behavior deserve attention.

If you notice something different about your pet, don’t wait for their discomfort to become severe. Your veterinarian can help determine what may be causing the change and discuss appropriate pain-management options. ❤️

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the lives that were taken, the families who lost loved ones, the first responders who ran toward danger, and all those whose lives were forever changed by that day.

We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the strength of the communities that came together in the aftermath.

25 years later, we will never forget.
