After much thought and prayer, I've come to the difficult decision to faze out boarding at Puppy Dog Tails. Due to physical limitations and no time off, I realize I can no longer properly provide this service. What has already been scheduled will still be boarded as planned. I apologize for any and all inconveniences this decision has caused. Bottom line is that health and being a mom has to have top priority

Due to recent storms, there is no phone or internet at Puppy Dog Tails. This is a huge inconvenience and I apologize. I have been told that neither will be fixed within the next few days. You can message through Facebook, but please keep in mind that I can't get the message until later in the evening. Thank you :)

We will re-open Monday the 11th. I have spent the last 2 days returning phone calls and answering questions. If I failed to call you, please forgive me and call the shop to leave a new message and I will return your call.

We will still work by curb service only.

We're not taking new customers at this time.

ALL animals will be kept no less than 6 feet apart unless they live in the same household.

We're taking every precaution to keep us, you and your pets safe.

At the time of this post, we are booked up until the week of the 25th.

With the changes we've made, it's going to take a lot of extra time and effort. You and your pets are worth it. The only thing we ask is for your continued patience. It may be the end of the work day or beginning of the next day before I can return your call.

We miss our fur friend and their humans and look forward to serving you again ❤

Update on reopen:
We tried to keep updated as to the peak week in Virginia for Corona. That was how we chose these past 2 weeks to close. I know it's impossible to predict something like that, and it now appears it's just how hitting our community hard. We're now planning on remaining closed until May the 11th. Most people are very understanding, but due to some of the negative messages left on the machine, I wish to explain why. The employees at Puppy Dog Tails are in close contact with elderly people who have pre-existing breathing problems. Their health is top priority. I myself work enough for 2 full time jobs, leaving school impossible. I do understand that closing is an inconvenience to anyone needing their pet groomed or boarded. I know some have made other arrangements and some are hanging in until we reopen. Thank you for understanding. There have been some to let me know that if the veterinarians were open, that I should be. They have checked and dog grooming doesn't have to be closed, so why am I. They need their dogs NOW. Why can't I "sneak" and do theirs, they have been a customer for years and if I don't, they will find a new groomer. How everyone reacts to this virus is their personal choice. I really am not of fear for myself, but for some of those I'm around.
It has now been proven that cats and dogs can get Corona. For this reason, our caging area will be redone to continue the social distance practice with them. We will continue with the curb service but ask if you, someone in your household or pet have been sick to please wait 2 weeks before making an appointment. The main goal it to stay healthy and not pass along any viruses. The first week we're open, I'm dedicating to the people that I had to cancel their appointments and you will be contacted to reschedule first. At this time, we will not be taking new customers. Please be patient, we'll get the phone calls returned. If you are a customer and call, please leave a message. Continuously calling and not leaving a message will not get you an appointment. Leaving threatening, demeaning, ugly messages will not get you an appointment. We love our families, pets and customers and pray for ALL to remain safe and healthy.

Good morning! As hard as this decision was, we've decided to close up shop due to the Corona virus end of business day of the 17th unless ordered to do so sooner. Anyone who has an appointment after that date will be contacted. We'll try to leave updates on Facebook and the shop answering machine as to the reopen date. This is NOT a lady bug.
This is an Asian Lady Beetle.
It produces chemicals that are toxic. If your pet eats one, if can embed in their mouth and can cause chemicals burns. This is what is coming into your house. Lady bugs are always red and don't try to come inside. These Asian lady beetles do try to get inside. They DO bite! Be cautious of these with your pet and yourself
