🐾 It’s Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week! 🐾
To every past, present, and future veterinary technician this one is for you. ❤️
The life of a vet tech is a whole lot of heart packed into a very busy day. It’s drawing blood, placing catheters, monitoring anesthesia, taking X-rays, cleaning up messes, answering questions, and somehow finding time to give that nervous patient a little extra love.
It’s learning the difference between “I’m scared” and “I’m hurting” from a patient who can’t tell you with words. It’s celebrating the first bites of food after a long recovery. It’s sitting on the floor because that’s where a patient feels safest. It’s remembering their favorite treats and knowing which ones need a slow approach and a soft voice.
Some days bring new puppies, successful recoveries, and plenty of laughter. Others bring difficult goodbyes, tears, and a drive home spent thinking about a patient and their family. Sometimes, all of that happens in the same shift.
This work takes knowledge, skill, patience, humor, and compassion.. even when you’re exhausted, and covered in fur.
To our current techs: We see how much you give, and we appreciate you.
To those who have stepped away: Your work mattered. The care you gave and the lives you touched still count.
To our future techs: Keep learning, stay curious, and remember that your well-being deserves care, too.
And to our own team here at Pleasantville Animal Hospital: Thank you for the hands that care for our patients, the voices that comfort their families, and the heart you bring through our doors every day. We are so grateful for you. 💙
