Let’s talk testicles 🥜

After a visit to a new clients farm today, I felt it important to discuss…. Most male mammals (I say most bc watch someone prove me wrong with an animal I’m not familiar with 🙄) have 2 TWO te**es. If you see only one, the likely cause is cryptorchidism/retained testicle. Or in the case of this poor client, the breeder must have only removed one on each of her boarlings and sold them as castrated. Honestly, I not even sure how that happens…

So if you are seeing anything back there except flat, possibly wrinkled skin on your male pig. They are intact and you will still end up with boarish behavior, unplanned pregnancy and taint. Both testicles must be removed to avoid this.

JUNE-Routes listed still have room for additional appts. All full routes have been removed from the list. They are still scheduled and I will reach out the week prior with time of arrival and trip fee.

JULY-is booking pretty steady at this point and will be updated as routes fill.

August and beyond is also steady booking behind the scenes.

The wonkiest trotters you ever did see on the most precious angel you ever did meet. Maple is the sweetest little kune girl but she did not hit the genetic lottery when it comes to her hooves. This trim is always a challenge for me but we do the best we can with her hooves and it keeps her as comfortable as possible. She’s on an every 4 month trim cycle as of now.
