Forever Paws Animal Shelter gives animals a renewed leash on life by assisting them while homeless, in danger, or generally in need. We work in collaboration with our Law Enforcement Agencies, members of the public, and other organizations to improve the lives of animals. Our mission is to re-home animals in an ethically positive way that is beneficial to the overall well-being of the animal and o

ur community. Forever Paws works to give animals the gift of time through managed intake. This allows us to offer comprehensive treatment and care to stray, abused, or abandoned animals. Forever Paws continues to operate under no-kill practices, offering care for all treatable conditions with no restrictions on length of stay. We will always place the quality of life of an animal as our most paramount charge. Forever Paws is devoted to educating future generations to foster compassionate and humane attitudes towards all species of animal.

Meet James!

We don't know what James is aside from 100% baby. Like, look at him. He's a baked potato. He's a potbellied piglet with fluffy ears. What is he actually? No idea! Chihuahua mixed with marshmallow fluff probably.

Despite looking like a permanent puppy, James is actually a mature gentleman at about eight or nine years old. He weighs around 16lbs so he's still puppy-sized and he's got the puppy cuteness without the crazy chaotic ricocheting-off-of-walls energy that puppies usually have.

James is kind of a couch potato. He likes his time outside but he can be slow to get going on a walk until he hits his groove. He does need to shed a few pounds so walks and exercise are going to be mandatory even though he probably won't be thrilled about it.

James is a pretty stoic kinda guy. His face reveals nothing. He has no interest in toys. The one thing that does get him to perk up? Other dogs. He is pretty forward with other dogs and will run right up to them to sniff all over to say hello. He also couldn't have cared less that there were cats around so he would probably be fine with dog-friendly cats. Kids 12+ would be best because he's not super thrilled with lots of noise and chaos.

If you're looking for a chunky monkey puppy but don't want to deal with the puppy crazies/zoomies...come meet James.

Alexander "Young, Scrappy, and Hungry" Hamilton and Aaron Burr...Sir, though they really need no introduction, are looking for their forever home together! (It'll be fine, we promise...we say, in parentheses.)

These two boys walked in and all of our hearts went, "Boom!"

Don't throw away your shot to adopt two silly, snuggly orange kittens. If you've ever owned an orange cat, you already know that they're inimitable.

These brothers are about three months old and since they're so young, they'll be able to adjust to nearly any home - other cats, dogs, kids, etc.

If you plan on filling out an application for them, you better write like you're running out of time because we don't anticipate that they'll be available for long.

You MUST have an APPROVED application in order to come meet them - and yes, they MUST go as a PAIR.

Meet Baked Beans!

Yes, he's a Boston terrier.

Boston Baked Beans 🫘

Baked Beans is about six months old and weighs a little over 20lbs. He did come to us with a bite history because he nipped a child over one of his toys. Animal control did say it was a minor injury and...well, he's a puppy. He's mouthy and has no manners. He's GOING to nip until he's taught not to, especially when he gets excited which is...always.

Anyway, because he has previously nipped a child, we are looking for a home without children PURELY to be overly cautious because this guy has not shown a single moment of aggression while he's been with us. He's just a d***y, goofy puppy. Older kids might be okay if the family has dog experience.

All in all - Boston is the epitome of "puppy". He's happy. He's excitable. He's bouncy. He's NOT housebroken. He also has a lot to say in the form of barking and whining so may not be ideal for shared walls or apartment complexes. He is A LOT...in the best way, but still. He wants to be ALL OVER YOU. He wants your entire hand in his mouth - not to bite, just to hold. Good luck getting a good photo of him because he is just a wigglebutt BLUR. It's like trying to get photographic evidence of Bigfoot.

He also has a little corkscrew piglet tail...which is very important for you to know. Obviously.

He's unsure about cats - not aggressive, just clueless and a little intimidated. He might be too much for them and may be an instigator. We haven't officially tested him with other dogs yet but we don't anticipate any issues except maybe wanting to parkour off of them because he has no boundaries.
